1. Arghhhhh. Not surprised, though. She is the female Santorum.
Melissa Hart (Pa-4)...she's my representative.

I hope Jason Altmire (D) takes her out in 06.

10. Kanjorski is your FEDERAL Rep!! Not Your Rep In H'Burg!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 01:07 AM by mermaid
I know this because Kanjorski is also my Federal Congresscritter.

That means it is likely that your Congresscritter in H'Burg is also Jim Siptroth (16th)

OOOPS!! My bad!! I thought this had to do with something on the State level. Re-reading it, I realize this is Federal-level.

Kanjorski is also my Federal Rep, as I said. Just went and had another look, and Kanjorski's name is on the list of co-sponsors!

7. Cut Chaka Fattah a break, he spoke at the Cindy Sheehan rally
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 07:15 AM by LynneSin
came on right before her. Even gave her a big hug.

Just because someone isn't a co-sponser doesn't mean they don't support the bill. I can guarentee that Chaka Fattah is very concerned about voter fraud since he has the heart of the Philadelphia region and he's one of the best representatives down there in DC

Edit note: My dream - Arlen Specter retires early and Ed Rendell appoints Chaka Fattah as the new senator!

8. Not criticizing... just stating a fact. He's not a sponsor & he could be.
Maybe he doesn't know how important it is to get this bill passed as written, especially now that the Feeney bill (HR 3910) might get rolled into it with REAL ID to disenfranchise poor, minority, elderly, and disabled voters.

Hit the link and send him an e-mail -- please!

but can anyone dredge up a list of who the pigs are in H'Burg that voted for the fucking illegal pay hike?
I'd like to vite every one of THEIR asses OUT!! It is an insult!! Gas prices going thru the roof, wages at all time lows, buying power diminishing by the second...budgets squeezed ever tighter for the average Pennsylvanian....everything costs more now as a result of higher gas prices...at a time when our buying power is already going down, because wages are not keeping up with prices...and these bastards vote THEMSELVES a fuckin' pay raise?!!? Sure wish I could vote ME a pay raise!!!

11. This is a FEDERAL BILL, nothing to do with STATE REPS in Harrisburg....
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 01:26 AM by demodonkey
... PLEASE click the link and send an e-mail to your FEDERAL CONGRESSPERSON.

Thank Kanjorski for supporting HR 550 which is the good bill in the Federal Congress for meaningful Voter Verified Paper Records and audits on voting systems, and tell him to reject HR 3910 that will give worthless paper records and require REAL ID with a photo to vote, and will disenfranchise poor, elderly, and disabled voters who can't get or afford the photo ID.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. If you think the pay raise in Harrisburg makes you mad, wait til they stop counting your vote as you intended it.

14. DONE - KICK !!!
Wish I could still recommend.

I sent 2 - one from each house - Phil English & Melissa Hart.
What’s yer excuse? ;)

This is sooo important folks!
Here’s a copy of what your letter will say:

Mrs. PA Mamma
**** ******
***********

October 9, 2005

The Honorable Phil English
U.S. House of Representatives
1410 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515-3803

Dear Congressman English:

When the Final Report of the Commission on Federal Election Reform was released in September, editorials across the nation condemned its recommendations for a National Voter ID, while overlooking the Commission's recommendation that Congress adopt a cosmetic voter verified paper record (VVPR) requirement, whose status would be left up to the individual states.

On September 27, 2005, Rep. Tom Feeney of Florida introduced HR 3910, a bill to amend the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), which combines the worst of the Carter-Baker recommendations for a government-issued Voter ID and a meaningless VVPR requirement. HR 3910 would allow any individual state to disregard the only record that the voter has confirmed in favor of the record inside the electronic machine and, rendering the voter verified paper ballot a meaningless and expensive placebo. The Voter ID section of this bill requires a government-issued photo ID to vote in person, or a copy of it to vote by mail. This would effectively disenfranchise millions of elderly, poor, minority and disabled voters, who lack the time, means, or physical ability to make the long trek to wait in long lines at the Department of Motor Vehicles to obtain the only type of ID that will allow them to exercise their right to vote.

In a democracy, every voter must be able to cast his or her vote without the undue physical and financial burden of obtaining a government-issued photo ID and every vote must be recorded and counted accurately and transparently. HR 3910 violates both of these essential prerequisites of free and fair elections, and must be defeated.

Fortunately, there is a bill currently before the House Administration Committee that will mandate effective and meaningful voter verified paper records and independent audits without threatening the right to vote that is the heritage of America's current and future voters.

Rep. Rush Holt's Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act (HR 550) will ensure that the voter verified paper record is the official record in the event of a recount, challenge, or discrepancy in a Federal election, and that independent audits of the voter verified paper ballots are routinely performed to check the accuracy of the machines that count the vote. HR 550 already has the bipartisan support of 157 Members of the House of Representatives, and has been endorsed by VoteTrustUSA and VerifiedVoting.org as the "gold standard" in verifiability legislation. The language in this bill was carefully written with input from computer scientists, disabilities organizations, and election reform advocates. It should be passed as written and in time to protect the 2006 elections.

I urge you to stand up for your constituents by working to defeat HR 3910 and by strongly supporting the passage of HR 550, as written.

Sincerely,

PA Mamma

Go on don’t be shy … :patriot:

16. Please keep sending these e-mails... take ONE minute to preserve our vote!
This project is not done yet, people... Pennsylvania should have more than just six co-sponsors on HR 550. We must keep the pressure on our Federal representatives in D.C.

WE NEED THIS BILL, and we need it to be passed AS WRITTEN, without any neo-con crap added like REAL ID.

Do. This. Now. Please.

It literally takes one minute. Isn't even a CHANCE of preserving true elections in our nation worth one minute of your time?

Do. This. Now. Please.
