***URGENT: OHIO Citizens CAN DEMAND A RECOUNT***
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 07:14 PM by batchdem04
Also, a group of five or more voters can request a recount on a question or issue. The recount process begins by filing a written application with the Board of Elections of each county in which votes are to be recounted. R.C. 3515.01. The application must be filed within five days after the results were declared. R.C. 3515.02. The application must also list each precinct within the county where votes are to be recounted, and for each precinct a $10 deposit must be paid. R.C. 3515.03.

3. Lorain County could produce 5 citizens
Not worth the effort if there isn't mass effort.

4. It's always worth the effort!
If you aren't in it, you can't win it.

5. I agree, we owe it to our own integrity to see this one through
Exit polls are usually very accurate, this time around they were about 6 points off in Ohio, and it's coming from places with e-voting machines. It looks extremely suspicious, even if Kerry still turns up short we need to expose this for the future. No one can afford to turn their backs on this!

6. From reading the pages above
what I get is that citizens can only demand a recount of an issue or question. Kerry would have to ask for a recount - not us.

If we asked the recount on the issue one votes, that is the only thing that would be re-counted, not the presidential election.

8. Bombard OH Secretary of State w/protest messages!
The Ohio Secretary of State, an African-American no less, needs to be told that we demand that Ohio's votes be counted. We can make this protest a little more meaningful by engaging in some Republican style dirty tricks.

Instead of e-mailing or sending letters demanding that the black box voting must be stopped...send FAXES. As the last page of your fax, send a black piece of paper like construction paper, saying this represents the black (hoodie??) you'll be wearing...the black voters who've been disenfranchised...the black representing the death of our right to vote...till our voting system is no longer held hostage by machines. Not only is this color appropriate, but thousands of people sending a black page will DEVOUR fax toner, and this will cause major inconvenience for them. These faxes won't be so easily ignored!

PLEASE help with this protest!! Address your faxed letters of protest to:

J. Kenneth Blackwell
Ohio Secretary of State
Fax: (614) 544-0649

9. Get off it.
We lost, fair and square. Start working on '06. I'm sick of these absurd notions that we didn't win. If there was massive fraud, some of the FIFTY THOUSAND poll workers would have said something. Do we forget that 1/2 of the poll workers are Democrats? We lost, it is time to deal with it and move on to 2006.
