Here is how the KC School District is spending your tax dollars
New employee will have responsibility for business issues
KC school board hires administrator
By JOE ROBERTSON
The Kansas City Star

The Kansas City school board is calling in the administrative cavalry.

For $6,500 a week, the board has hired a former top business officer from New York state, Henry Marini, to strengthen what most members think is a depleted cabinet of top administrators under outgoing Superintendent Bernard Taylor.

Marini, who said he could not comment on the state investigation, thinks his work in Rochester was successful.

The district turned its shortfall into a $50 million fund balance within three years, he said. He helped negotiate for increased state funding, identified programs that could be minimized or delayed, and helped negotiate concessions from unions.

In Kansas City, he will help manage a district of some 26,000 students and a $354 million budget.

1. It looks like he'll fit right in.
<snip>

According to news accounts, a teacher in the district filed a complaint alleging that Marini had helped a former business associate win a lucrative contract from the district.

And I just paid my fucking property tax. Ouch.

2. Don't ya love the fact that he is UNDER INVESTIGATION
in another state?

Geez louieeze, can it get any worse?

I have literally been SCREAMING since I heard this earlier this evening. Remember the last time they hired a guy to clean up the district? They didn't like what he recommended so they fired him!

3. Maybe I should add that to my resume.
"Under investigation" seems to be a selling point these days.
