D.C. area DUers. Favor to ask...
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 09:45 AM by salvorhardin
Could anyone in the Alexandria, VA area get a few photographs of this address:

208 North Patrick Street
Alexandria, VA 22314

In the thread I linked below there seems to be a "charity" called American Federation For Senior Citizens sending out mailers which are basically scare tactics to solicit donations. The tactics involve Kerry and liberals endangering their social security.

I've been able to put this organization at the address above which also seems to be shared with several other organizations (see the linked thread). All of these organizations are nothing more than front groups for the Moonies headed up by none other than Gary Jarmin who was involved with the infamous coronation of the Rev. Moon in a senate office building earlier this year.

Here's the thread where we've been working on this at DU:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x2500661

I'm in upstate NY and was hoping someone in the D.C. area could get some shots of the the building at this address, particularly of the full exterior and any signage. Nothing that could get you in trouble in any way.

What I'm looking for is just to see if this is a large office building (I don't think it is) and if it's basically just one office fronting for all these groups. I'd like to investigate the connection between the Moonies and these "charitable" organizations further.

If you can get some photos for me, PM me here at DU and I'll provide a real life e-mail address.

I will also cross-post this in the Virginia forum. Mods, please delete if I'm crossing lines here.

TIY.

1. will go over and LOOK at this place right now....don't have a digital
camera...best I can do is make a REPORT.....

this address is located in OLD TOWN Alexandria...an area of HISTORIC houses built in the 1700's and 1800's, some are real narrow row houses....although, interspersed are some very new office buildings, so it's very hard to tell without LOOKING at it....

it'll take me about an HOUR to go LOOK and come back....

City of Alexandria...historical area...

4. Thanks
I reference both of those in the thread here on DU I linked to.

This is indeed as tangled a web as the tentacles of Danny Casolaro's octopus.

7. full report from my trip to 208 North Patrick St, Alexandria VA....
I hate it when those bush* "Christians" rip off OUR seniors...it's real slime....

anyhow...I went over to 208 North Patrick Street....as I thought, it's OLD OLD town Alexandria...I took a whole roll of film (Kodak 35 mm, 200 speed)....if you want to develop it, PM me and I'll send it to you...your local film developer could put it on-line for you)

the house is historic, in fairly good shape, painted a light blue....NO SIGNS at all, except for a "little" security alarm sign in the corner of one window...TWO addresses posted over the double front door...208 and 210....those cheap white blinds cover every window, and were all closed...

reviewing the Alexandria Real Estate link for 208...it does show 208-210 for that address...so it's a DOUBLE lot....but posted an "unknown" 210 address (unknown by the City of Alexandria Real Estate web page)....strange....perhaps the City of Alexandria should take a trip over there and examine the tax records....could be some typically "christian" real estate LIES here...

the front building is the OLD building, but there is a HUGE addition onto the back of the historic house, two story addition HUGE...bigger than the original house (could there be something wrong with Alexandria real estate assessment, as a 90 sq ft addition and a 60 sq foot addition???? it's clearly additions MUCH BIGGER THAN THAT)....the house wall on the NORTH is directly against the next house wall....there's a "little" strip of vacant land on the SOUTH, which is enclosed with a matching blue wood fence (perhaps the extra lot?, but it is real small and narrow)....this narrow yard had just trash, building stuff, and NO landscaping at all....

I'll PM you with an address later on today. I promised myself I'd pry myself away from my keyboard and get some housework done before entropy takes over. :toast:

9. Christian Voice - Moonie front group
As noted, 208 N Patrick St is Gary Jarmin's address.

CHRISTIAN VOICE INC
208 N Patrick St
Alexandria, VA 22314-2441
Robert Grant, President

Religious Organization

<http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A19-2004Jul20.html>

"In a March 11 letter, Christian Voice of Alexandria asked Warner to reserve room G-11 in Dirksen "for a reception Christian Voice plans to host in honor of the 'Ambassadors for Peace' award recipients." The letter, which the senator's office provided to The Post yesterday, was addressed "Dear John" and signed by group president Gary L. Jarmin.

"Nothing in the letter suggests any participation by Rev. Moon or his organization," Ullyot said."

This was the notorious event where the blasphemer Moon was crowned in the Senate office building this year.

Also at Jarmin's address:

10. Jar-Mon Consultants: is Mon short for Rev. Sun Myung Moon?

I wonder about the name Jar-Mon which Gary Jarmin uses instead of Jarmin. A cult leader such as Moon likes to put his stamp on his property, sometimes in a clever, cryptic way. The Mon in Monday comes from mona meaning Moon. Jarmin and Moon probably consider Jar-Mon Consultants to be Moon's property, since Jarmin himself is considered as such.
