2. Do you need to go hide from this next hurricane or are you in a safe
place?

I guess we many not even have the first debate which Kerry lost because the side agreement the media is willing to sign isn't tough enough for BushCo.

Do they want Secret Service to tackle and drag away by their hair anyone who speaks an unscripted word?

All Kerry has got is facts and workable solutions. Bush* only has to show up, he's that charming--and charm always wins over substance.

19. From CNN : 9/30/04 - post debate commentary
Edited on Sat Sep-25-04 01:25 PM by featherman
"Although the President made a several minor factual errors like placing Afghanistan in South America, he was able to connect to the average voter with his likeable charm and folksy manner. The other guy came across as an elitest snob who used big words when erroneously describing the President's policies as failures. There is no doubt that the President hit this one out of the park, Bill, and there is no way that the other guy can overcome the president's commanding 15 point lead in the polls. Back to you, Wolf and Judy"

22. From Crossfire:
Novak: Senator Kerry showed a terrible disrespect for the office of the president. It's just terrible to disrespect the Commander in Chief while we have troops in harm's way.

Begala: All he did was say Iraq's a mess. Bush called Kerry an indecisive flip-flopper who'd ban the Bible, endanger national security, and appease terrorists.

Novak: It just goes to show how important this election is. The American people want a Commander in Chief who doesn't flip-flop.

24. from the NYT:
The President, after stumbling over the step in back of the podium, recovered nicely with his answer to the question "Why do they hate our freedoms?" by pointing out crisply that OB/GYNS aren't able to practice their love with women. The moderator decided not to ask Mr. Kerry any questions because, after all, we all know he wouldn't be able to overcome charges of being a flip-flopper. The President was declared the winner because of how so many Americans would prefer him as the guy they'd like to have a beer with.

Edited on Sat Sep-25-04 05:52 PM by fujiyama
like when Gore used the word Kostunista? or whatever that Serbian president's name was? Did he name too many funny sounding world leaders' names?

Damn that Bush and his everyman quality. He really knows hows to relate with the average voter. Did you know his favorite political philosopher is Jesus? I'm sure Jesus would love killing ARabs.

/Does this really require a sarcasm tag?

30. THIS JUST IN! Kerry has blown the 2nd debate.
He sighed and rolled his eyes once, and the camera caught it. Now everyone will vote for Bush because they feel sorry for him, and Kerry is so mean.

Plus Kerry thinks he's smarter than Bush, which means he thinks he's smarter than the voters, so this will harm him.

39. I heard the reason Kerry lost points right off the bat
Edited on Sat Sep-25-04 05:05 PM by Kerryfan
was because he lingered 2 seconds past the allotted time when he shook hands with Bush. In the 38 page debate document agreed to, both are to be seated immediately so Kerry's height advantage is not evident for more than the allowed 5 seconds.

40. Wait
I heard they played rave and techno music and Kerry busted a few moves and danced up in bush's face and said "you've just been SERVED" and then bush did some strange drunken waltz and said to Kerry "bring it" and then KERRY TOTALLY started breakdancing--doing the worm and the robot and shit, so the DJs switched over to some hip-hop and bush got all pissed off and Kerry danced back over in his face and said "brought it."

And then the pundits all said "My GOD, he can windsurf, he's a biker, he sails, he skis, he snowboards, AND he breakdances and knows all the latest rave moves? Is there anyhing Kerry CAN'T do???"

And bush started crying with his bottom lip out and his chin all quivering and Condaleeza came over and grabbed his head and shoved it onto her chest and started comforting him while giving Kerry a horribly dirty look. She was heard to say "momma gonna make it all right" as she led a dejected, sweaty bush off the stage.

Was it THAT one?
