4. Not at this rate. I am soooooo loving it.
I think it will be a fight between Mittens and Pawlenty. Newt may be around. Jindal, Palin and Barbour for window dressing.

5. Be careful what you wish for
People didn't think that the GOP had anyone to run against Gore in 2000. And isn't there a fresh Bush ready to crawl out from under a rock? How old will Ricky Martin Bush be by then?

41. I agree. These crazy loons are just a bunch of distractions
They are perfectly capable of finding someone wicked, but relatively unknown, like Bush. And I checked, George P. will be 36 by then.

19. I have been saying for a few months: John Thune will be the GOP nominee
telegenic, handsome, squeaky-clean (so far), happily married and charismatic. All he needs to do is survive in 2010 the South Dakota Senate re-election campaign and he will be all set. His Vice-Presidential nominee will be Tim Pawlenty. Forget Palin, Gingrich, and the other dwarfs, it will be Thune-Pawlenty 2012.

Best bet, I think, since people will have forgotten what mess Obama got. More possible than not.

21. Yes, I agree. Jeb is a credible candidate but he needs to run for the Senate first.
He needs to prove himself as the anti-Bush Bush. I still put my money on John Thune...as we write and speak, Thune is already looking to go up the GOP leadership ladder.

34. She's running for governor in 2010
I doubt she would go through the effort of challenging a fellow Republican in a primary to then turn around and run for president.

23. I hear Bobby Jindal is looking for someone willing to have an affair with him ...
... to give him credibility in the GOP!

We still have Sarah. But when someone finally nails down the story about her and Todd's business partner, she'll be on the same level with the dudes.

36. The rationale to elect a Republican to the White House in 2012 is
looking exceedingly wobbly, isn't it.

Romney wants the nomination badly. No matter the odds against a popular President Obama, Romeny wants the GOP nom. He's got some money. He's also got some competition if Huckabee wants the job, too. But Huckabee, as disagreeable as he is on issues, is less of a fool that Romney. If Huckabee steps aside, it leaves only Palin as a headline celebrity competitor plus all the second-tier candidates like Barbour and Pawlenty, etc.
