Bush Fell Flat On His Face Today!

My son just came home from school, and I told him about the protest of Bush's appearance at a high school in Lees Summit, and my participation in it. A.J goes to another a different H.S. in Lees Summit, but his Spanish teacher turned on the television and wanted to "treat" the students to Bush's speech as it was carried live. My son raised an objection, and the teacher said he didn't have to watch it. Yet, he wasn't allowed to leave the room. (I'm going to have a talk with the principal tomorrow.)

So my son watched the speech. What was funny was that he told me that many of the kid in class, including himself were making cracks about Bush. According to him no one had anything nice to say about Bush.

But the real kicker is that my son told me that directly after Bush was finished speaking, as he started to walk off of the stage, he tripped over something and fell flat on his face. My son said that the whole class burst into laughter. He also said that when Bush got back up his face was all red and looked scratched up.

Priceless.

I missed all of this because I was at the protest across from the high school he was speaking at. I would definitely like to see his fall get some play on TV somewhere.

generally don't know how to fall! I had a friend in college that was pampered, over protected and spoiled by her parents. The first time she ever spent the night away from home was when she attended college. We went roller skating (her first time ever) and she fell face forward, but did not put her hands up to protect her face, so she busted the heck out of her lips and nose. When we asked her why she didn't put her hands out to stop herself, she said she didn't know how, she never had to before. It was so sad.

Poppy & Bads have always protected their son! He probably doesn't know how to fall, which, given the number of times he has fallen lately, would seem almost impossible. The SS should at least try to teach him to put his hands up to stop himself.

...if the teacher shows speeches by all candidates, even Nader if possible. Teaching kids how the electoral process works should be mandatory. Teaching them based on your politics alone should be met with a severe reprimand as it is of little use to the children's learning how to think critically.

In all fairness, I've fallen on my face a few times. But I am a total klutz. As a kid who actually enjoyed my piano lessons, I taught myself not to reach out and catch myself, though.

But I'm conceivably the least athletic human being ever born -- this guy tries to come across as Mr. Sporto good ole boy.

When Bush strutted and did his little turn on the catwalk from backstage up to the raised podium at the RNC Convention, I had fantasies about being married to Elizabeth Montgomery (more than just the deviant fantasies I had as a little boy) and she would twitch her nose and Bush would trip and take a header into the podium, knocking himself out on national television. That fantasy kept me going for a couple of days. Please oh please let someone produce the video tape of Bush falling flat on his face.

Do you guys remember his infamous march off the stage after his speech at the Unity Conference? That was about six weeks ago and it was broadcast on cspan. I taped it.

Shrub walks off confidently, head held high, arms swinging palms back. Problem is he walked off to the wrong side so then he had to walk back across past the podium and then to the other side.

Man is that funny. Sometimes my husband and I play that tape at dinner and just laugh out heads off. We play/replay, play/replay.

I think we're going to need this new tape!
