I know there is complete dislike on DU for Powell's actions as SOS under Bush. At least, he has shown the courage to come out now and help to prevent the national disaster of John McCain and Sarah Palin taking the White House. McCain and Palin should be viewed as co-running mates. If McCain is elected she will become president by all odds. I think Powell is smart enough to realize this and what it would mean for the country. We can salute Powell for speaking up because there are so many Republicans who know the same facts that Powell spelled out yet are staying silent.

Maybe this will give some of the chicken shit Republicans who hate the kind of politics McCain is practicing but are afraid to speak out the courage to do so.

Sometimes all it takes is one big name to get the ball rolling.

This endorsement combined with that Bachmann outrage of Friday might just get some of them off their asses. If they don't condemn McCain's campaign now, they will go down the toilet too.
