Three Super Delegates endorse Obama
1) SENATOR CASEY ENDORSES OBAMA

Senator Casey endorses Obama
Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:43am ED

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania endorsed on Friday Barack Obama's campaign for the Democratic nomination for president in a boost for the Illinois senator.

Obama aides said Casey would appear later at an Obama campaign event in Pennsylvania, where the candidate is vying with New York Sen. Hillary Clinton for support in the April 22 primary election.Casey also would join part of Obama's six-day bus tour across the state, due to start in Pittsburgh, they said.

"The endorsement comes as something of a surprise," Dan Pfeiffer, Obama deputy communications director, said in a statement. "Casey ... had been adamant about remaining neutral until after the April 22 primary. He said he wanted to help unify the party."

"Obama strategists hope Casey can help their candidate make inroads with the white working-class men who are often referred to as 'Casey Democrats,'" Pfeiffer said, adding that the group is liberal on economic issues, supportive of gun rights and opposed to abortion.Obama's campaign has spent $1.6 million.

2)CONGRESSMAN DAN LIPINSKI ENDORSES OBAMA

Congressman Lipinski backs Obama for president

March 26, 2008Recommend FROM THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Congressman Dan Lipinski is backing U.S. Senator Barack Obama's presidential bid.

Lipinski had been one of the two remaining holdouts among Democratic superdelegates in Illinois' congressional delegation. He says he's endorsed Obama because of the candidate's emphasis on overcoming partisanship and uniting the country.

Lipinski's district in southwest Chicago and its southwest suburbs narrowly voted in favor of Obama over New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in Illinois' presidential primary last month.

Representative Rahm Emanuel of Chicago is a former White House aide to President Clinton and now the chairman of the House Democratic Conference, and he remains neutral in the presidential race.

3)DNC DELEGATE FROM CONNECTICUT DON WILLIAMS ENDORSES OBAMA

Lamont joins state Democratic leaders in support of Barack ObamaThe grassroots effort to elect Senator Barack Obama for President is building in Connecticut with the announcement that a diverse group of state leaders are supporting the campaign.

Former Democratic candidate for Senate, Ned Lamont failed to defeat incumbent, Joseph Lieberman in 2006.

Now, Lamont has reappeared in the political scene as a co-chair of Barack Obama's Connecticut Leadership Council alongside Senate President, Don Williams.

"I think Don and I have a thing for underdog campaigns, and this time we're going to win. Hey look, Hartford, I'm delighted to be back, I'm glad to be back for Barack Obama, the next President of the United States"

Lamont and Williams both referenced a poll released earlier this week that shows support for Obama trailing Hillary Clinton by 14 points among Connecticut voters.

Williams says despite Connecticut's size and number of delegates, the state does matter because residents will vote on Super Tuesday, along with 22 other states.

3. lipinski is from Chicago
He didn't really have a choice. I volunteered for his opponent in the primary because he's sooooo slimy. lipinski inherited the seat from daddy. Anyway, lipinski is no surprise. The other 2 are important tho.

But your right it was a matter of time.

43. yeah for Chicago that district was scary conservative.
The political machine was pushing for Obama in the primary. The machine is very entrenched. There were several guys there who work for the city "volunteering on election day". I gotta say I wonder. One was nice the rest were very cold. One said to me what does your candidate think about guns and immigration? I knew I wouldn't get him to vote for Mark Pera.

19. I think the Huckabee index
is the number of superdelegates Obama needs to get to 2024, based on the delegate totals in June.

22. It's the point of mathematical loss for the Clinton campaign ...
... If 73 more superdelegates or pledged-delegate-changes (e.g., Texas tomorrow) go toward Obama, then the upcoming contests will carry him the rest of the way, based on the polls, because at that point Senator Clinton will NOT be able to reach 2024.

Like Mike Huckabee, who stayed in the GOP primary up to his point of mathematical improbability (and beyond).

5. Yay for each and every SD endorsement
for Obama. He keeps narrowing that SD gap, slowly but surely. He can't have a deficit of more than 35. By the time PA rolls around, I bet she won't be more than 10 ahead of him.

This points out that Clinton IS being bolstered by party insiders.

Thanks for posting this.

17. She lead in DNC delegates 140 to Obama's 107
More importantly her lead is supported by 41 New York Super Delegates.

I believe that James Carivelle's charge of 'Judas' at Richardson was really aimed at New York Super Delegates, especially at those from African American congressional districts, Districts with a large college population and Gov. Patterson who has shown less than enthusiastic endorsement of Clinton (costing her a superdelegate).

If she were to lose even one or two New York super delegates it would open the flood gates and her nomination would be lost.

These are people who have worked with both and can best assess how they would actually interact with the Congress.

28. As should the Clinton people
They should also look at the way those head to head challenges have changed over the last month - maybe throwing kitchen sinks in the primaries is not the best way to keep the people in the middle.

30. Kitchen sink myth
IMHO Clinton has a lot more she could use to challenge Obama. She's been pretty easy on him so far, much easier than McCain if he makes it to the GE.

Obama has had a pretty easy ride so far, he should stop whining.

There are party elders reportedly not happy with HRC on this. She said "kitchen sink" that's where it comes from.

By the way - both Clintons have whined.

Please link to any Obama comment that you deem whining. (It was Hillary who had that emotional moment before NH that is extensively documented. For Bill Clinton - see his comments on swiftboating HRC after the Philadelphia debate when her multiple answers were mocked.)

32. OK I just checked all of the polls from 7 months ago
Hillary had a 30 point lead for the nomination and 12 point lead for the general.

There really is a reason that they go around and campaign.

Obama is going to run circles around McCain

42. Here are the polls:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html

Barack and Hillary both are fine against McCain right now, without any serious campaigning against him. So, we should feel free to choose our candidate on his or her merits.

16. How exactly would Hillary win it?
Clinton: Blatantly fabricated story about a war time situation that never happened.

McCain: Shot down in battle, POW for 5 years who was tortured.

End result: Hillary is eaten alive in the GE.

Obama's lack of experience will hurt him in the GE.

29. and sd's should know that they don't have to be afraid of the big
money apparatus any longer. Obama has a 2 mil+ donor list that will gladly support their future campaigns. If nothing else happens this election cycle, I hope the "big money" backers get the message that the party will not be held hostage by their money. We have a growing pool of small money donors who have proven they're up to the task.

I can't stress enough how DAMAGING this is to all of us.

Good Lord, we need those Super Delegates to move quickly and shut this shit down, like NOW.
