The reason Pastorgate is a big deal is because Wright echoes Michelle Obama.
It is a big deal now, for Dems, because it will be a big deal in November.

And it completes a trifecta.

Can you imagine a repuke ad quoting Obamas pastor saying, *God Damn America* followed by Michelle saying she was only proud of America when Barack decided to run for president, and ending with the pic of Obama without his hand over his heart during the National Anthem with a voice over saying, *Barack Obama, is he really right for America?*

It is a big deal.

And before any Obamabots start hitting me for giving the repukes ideas, remember what they were able to do to war veterans Cleland and Kerry.

1. It won't work anymore.... swiftboating is losing its effectiveness over time....
...and Obama has been MUCH more effective in answering things like this than Kerry was.

11. It's true.... in relation to Wright's viewpoints..... not Obama's....

...sorry... the viewpoints of people who AREN'T Barack Obama and who DO NOT work on his campaign don't count.

22. Wright was part of the campaign
and Obama had him as his mentor for 20 years...he agrees with him, but he's trying to get elected so he will never admit it. His actions tell me he does. Nobody supporters someone for 20 years when they disagree on a very fundamental level.

28. What's this got to do with the Clintons? Isn't that a Rovian tactic?
Blame and attack the Clintons for everything. He even started the war on Iraq. right? Why aren't you spending your precious time defending Obama. He's the one who needs it now...for a change. The media is just getting started. The far left wing and right wing destroyed Hillary...now the Media is destroying Obama. We Dems are collectively responsible for installing McCain to the presidency and stacking the SC with conservative judges. Good job my fellow Dems!

5. Damned uppity negroes ...
s'posed to just do as they're told.

The party can no longer take African American votes for granted. This election ends all of that. Either Senator Obama wins the nomination fair and square, or loses it fair and square. If Hillary gets more votes and more delegates, nobody can really say they didn't have a chance.

But if the Clinton Bros. pull a fast one in a smoke filled backroom in Denver, it's over.

Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 02:08 PM by sparosnare
A repuke ad with a woman saying these words and then one pic after another of how horrible the 90's were and the ultimate impeachment of Bill Clinton.

"Do we really want that man and his wife anywhere near the White House again?"

I can make a big deal out of nothing too.

8. Let me know when the pastor is running for public office.
I'll make a point of not voting for him. Re the "God Damn America." How can you find that offensive when we've slaughtered nearly a million innocent people over the past 5 years? If there is a God, he/she better damn America.

with Michelle's statements. She sounds like she agrees with Wright. I think Obama does, too, he just isn't honest about it. Obama is the great panderer.

25. Something tells me that Michelle chose this church
Often it is the wife who makes that decision. Michelle's senior thesis at Princeton revealed a lot of what she thinks--that whites will never truly accept blacks, that blacks need to work exclusively on their own goals, etc. Very much in keeping with Pastor Wright's philosophy.
