KO and His Special Comment
I have been a great fan of KO and his show for the past couple of years. It has been the only show i watch a 8:00pm (except for Survivor and all Red Sox games during baseball season).
The way he has taken on the * administration has been fucking awesome. Finally, someone who shines light on the Dark Side.
Now, with his Obama Fascination, it has been hard to watch the show for the last few months. Tonight, I feel that it could just do it for. The show's tone tonight is sullen and gloomy. He knows what is coming tonight in his Special Comment. It sounds as if he is going to go for Hillary's jugular. Do I watch? Do I just read the follow up comments here?
My hunch is that KO knows he could lose a huge portion of his viewership tonight. He could lose me.
I know my post will be mocked and belittled by the Obama supporters her. I don't really care.

I finally had to mute the tv because I couldn't stand that sob lecturing the masses on what we already know about Geraldine Ferraro and castigating Sen Clinton.. Keith baby.. you can be gone in a heartbeat. Don't listen to your minions just once reading your prewritten prepared script.. and you'll be pink slipped quicker than you can say:

I hear the distortions, exaggerations, faux on purpose outrage and lies by the Obama people just looking to find something to attack Hillary for...all seen through the eyes of someone who is looking for prejudice.

If you listen to all that Geraldine said...several paragraphs...you'll see she was complaining about the bias media and their unfair positive coverage of (can do no wrong) Obama. Everyone is AFRAID to criticize anything he does for fear of being called racist. They're the ones who are playing the race card.

In spite of that...I don't hate anyone! I dislike your intolerant campaign methods.

8. K.O.'s big problem is that he relentlessly exposes bullshit.
Everybody loves that. Or at least they love it until it's THEIR bullshit that's being exposed. Then they turn on him.

K.O. has not changed his approach. It's just a case of people who can dish it out to their opponents, but can't take the same treatment when it's aimed at their own personal sacred cows.

I say this as someone who has not yet decided who to vote for, so I have no ax to grind either way.

47. Actually, he has changed.
I gave him up long before the primaries started. I think it was November. I was watching one night and the entire first half-hour (or at least most of it) was him talking about himself. I turned it off and haven't gone back since. So I have no opinion of his show since then, but he has definitely changed.

I'm just glad that Jon Stewart appears to know how to handle success.

The Clintons have already won enough
They spend money like drunken sailors and get relatively little in return
They rely on brute force to get their way
They play for the big states, the political equivalent of being overly dependent on the home run ball
They make up the rules as they go along

More?

I know he'll hit Hillary hard, but I don't think she's the main target tonight. Ferraro is for her comments and her continued defense of what she said. I don't necessarily think she's racist; I just think she's a little ignorant in this respect. KO will surely hit Hillary for allowing Ferraro to stay on with her campaign for so long, but I don't think she's the one with the bull's eye tonight.

Getting the heads up from Keith is like being told "wait till your father gets home". Funny, since they had no problem taking pleasure when it was their siblings getting the scolding.

71. That's why he made his special comment. He's trying to influence the election.
He should have remained neutral and saved his fire and anger for the Republicans...the ones who deserve it.
He also did it NOW to influence the PA Democrats and turn them off from Clinton. Democrats are all listening to him...the only program we have and he'd placed himself in the middle...that's no right! That was a sickening segment if I ever saw one and I no longer have any respect for Keith's opinion now that I know how bias and exaggerated he really is. I will forever take what he says with a grain of salt...if and when I watch him.

but I am sick of the sexism of the media (to which he has contributed). I am disappointed in his special comment tonight. I am disappointed that so many, including Keith, have not recognized that Obama has played the race card profusely! Dirty tactics are not solely owned by the Clinton campaign - but also by the Obama campaign. When people tag GF and the Clintons as racist, they are speaking out their asses cause their mouths know better. My candidate was Edwards, so I am not a Clinton supporter nor an Obama supporter. I just want the dems to win in November. However, the way BOTH campaigns have been waged, I may not vote for the first time in my eligible voting life! When KO can give a Special Comment about the atrocities of the Obama campaign, I may watch him again. Until then, he can't count me in his statistics to beat Faux News!

65. He lost me
HIS COMMENTS TONIGHT WERE HIDEOUS. MSNBC lost a view. Dan Abrams is far more even handed. He doesn't go for the jugular.

I'm a Keith hater now.

67. If he lost you, it's because you are more interested in defending Hillary than in defending truth...

KO didn't move away from you.... you moved away from KO.

73. KO starts out by saying HRC & WJC stood by him when he needed them. Then stabs HRC in the back.
Gee what a great guy.
They stand by him while he's being attacked.
How does he repay them? He shits all over them.
Nice guy.

79. When "He" Needed Them???
sounds to me like they reached out to him and thanked him for his cajones to speak truth to power.

HRC did not handle this well, that's the premise of what he said. Do you think she handled this well? Having Geraldine running around not just once but many times preaching her "he's black" meme is okay with you? KO would have done the same if someone in the Obama camp would have been running around saying she wouldn't be doing so well, if it weren't for her gender.

85. You didn't listen to his intro to the piece.
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 11:40 PM by BigBearJohn
Edit, to add transcript:

Keith: "By way of necessary preface, President and Senator Clinton -- and the Senator's mother, and the Senator's brother -- were of immeasurable support to me at the moments when these very commentaries were the focus of the most surprise, the most uncertainty, and the most anger. My gratitude to them is abiding."

Like I said, this is his way of showing gratitude?
With friends like him, who needs enemies?

84. BigBearJohn, If you see someone in the process of self-destructing
hurting themselves and their associates, is it "stabbing them in the back" to express your considered opinion about their behavior?

THAT's what KO was doing last night. He's trying to tell her that her campaign tactics are harmful to the party and beneath her.

74. I think that actually Olberman did his comment in a spirit of grace and friendship
He didn't "go for the jugular", instead he came across as a friend leading an intervention for another friend. But sadly, deep in their own partisan blindness, Hillary supporters will fail to see this, even as they continue to agree with Ferraro's racist remarks(and yes, they are doing that, there's a thread around here where the OP finds themself agreeing with Pat Buchanan of all people:puke:)

81. I wrote KO a Dear John letter late last night and I plan on writing
a few more to MSNBC. They won't be fan mails. I hope everyone will write to KO and MSNBC and complain that he is unfairly using his popularity in the Dem party to influence the election and further divide us. I'm absolutely outraged at his hostility and nasty mouth toward Geraldine. I'll not be watching him anymore. I've totally lost all faith in Keith's judgment and ability to report in an objective manor. He's become a left wing BillO. That's not pretty.

83. I've written to KO praising him for telling the truth
even to the Hillary supporters who would rather stick their fingers in their ears instead of hearing the truth.
He's a true American patriot.
