Hillary's use of Islamophobia against Obama, will hurt our Democratic candidate for Congress
I am referring to the threads today about the Hillary campaign distributing a picture of Obama dressed in tribal garb when he made his historic visit to his ancestral home in Kenya.

The son of the late Congresswoman Julia Carson is running for her empty seat in a special election in March. Andre Carson is a Muslim and, if elected, he will become the first Muslim elected to Congress from Indiana.

Actions have consequences!

Carson, 33, says he can't recall exactly when and where, but it was roughly 10 years ago that he first recited the Shahada, the Muslim profession of faith. Like most observant Muslims, he says he doesn't drink alcohol.

He tries to faithfully pray the five daily required prayers of Islam at the appointed times but admits that his busy schedule, of late, makes it difficult. He makes up the missed prayers when he can. One staple, says his wife Mariama, a 32-year-old elementary school assistant principal, is that they try to pray together as a couple at least once a day.

Carson has yet to make the pilgrimage to Mecca, not unheard of for a man his age, but it is still something all able-bodied Muslims must do.

Since his conversion, Carson has been a regular at Friday afternoon prayers at the Nur-Allah Islamic Center, where the imam is Indianapolis firefighter Michael Saahir, who denounces terrorism as un-Islamic.

The Islamic Center has its roots in the Nation of Islam, but with the death of its founder in 1975, the denomination began to split. One branch, represented in Indianapolis at Nur-Allah, embraced a moderate, universal form of traditional Islam that abandoned the call for black separatism.

5. You and Olbermann should take it to court, then, but as always, it's just pathetic finger pointing

with nothing of substance to ever make anything REAL come of it. Nice try. I'm sure everyone at the Green Undgerground will agree with you.

BTW, congrats on your candidate, Ralph Nader, jumping into the race again to ruin things for us Democrats. Wonderful.

6. Olbermann went anti-Clinton long ago - and I stopped watching - this smear is Obama's
finnally getting Hillary to play in the mud with him.

Pathetic are the Obama folks that deny his smear/play the race card/lie campaign - or that those
"left" ideas are per Obama "on the table" to trade for GOP love and changing the atmosphere in DC.

The best part was Obama stopping discussion of his lack of political ability to get left type victories of any size - by play the race card and getting 24/7 discussion of the "race card" - all by using his folks to say they saw racial undertones in comments by Clinton supporters - while he let it boil for a few weeks until he finally said the Clintons were not racists (not noting anything they had accomplished for blacks - like better jobs/income) but then claiming Hillary should be faulted for lack of control of all who support her - only 4 weeks later when he unleashed a few slurs/smears via supporters he claimed it was silly to assume anyone could control their supporters.

The walk on water sale via a GOP organizations/corporate media that has had its emails explaining its support of Obama as an attempt to get the weaker candidate printed on DU many times seems to work well with the men (and women) that are afraid of a women in authority.

7. Well, DUH.....
do you think the rightwing won't use anything they can? And there's no proof that Hillary had anything to do with that photo....a photo, I might add, that's a real photo...not photoshopped. It's out there and would have come out now or later.

10. "I might add... it's a real photo, not photoshopped."
Maybe you should post a thread to draw attention to the photo you claim
is so damaging. Include a pic and explanation why you think it matters.
People are talking...

8. World leaders wear funny things
Here is George Bush while visiting a Heaven's Gate compound in Guyana.

Unfortunately, he did NOT drink the kool-aid that day.
