I've heard it alluded to that Obama fans being negative on Hillary and gloating over his recent success is somehow unseemly and unnecessary.
Like, if a little league team is getting beat 20-0 and the team with the 20 points keeps it's best players in the game to keep running up the score instead of playing its benchwarmers.
As if poor Hillary Clinton can hardly defend herself against Obama.
As if Hillary has been all nice and sweet to him and Obama has been pouring on the hate and vile.
As if there's no need to continue to put the pressure on her, because she's "done."
Well, if she was "done" she'd be conceding now. Is she conceding? No.
Has she pulled back her attacks? No. She's increasing them.
Has she demonstrated the humility and graciousness of an opponent who has just lost 11 contests in a row? No.
Has she congratulated Obama on his victories? No.
Has she belittled and dismissed his wins and supporters? Yes.
Has she belittled and dismissed his message? Yes.
Has she belittled and dismissed the central theme of his campaign? Yes.
Does she deserve sympathy? No.
Should his supporters let up on her? Not until she drops out.
Has she dropped out? No.
Ergo, the pressure will be kept on.
I mean, she is still competitive right? And during a competition you -- compete? Right?
So either you think she's competitive and you accept the harsh tenor of Obama supporters. Or you admit defeat and ask us to back off.
But you can't have it both ways. You can't play the "Oh, she's still in this card" with one hand, and in the other say "but lay off the attacks, it's unnecessary."
As long as she can still take the nomination, she's fair game. Until the day that changes, it would be disrespectful to her to act like she's some scrub little league team and start pitying her.
