Senator Dodd needs our help to stop FISA again!
(clips from an ACLU e-mail I got today):

At the end of 2007, the principled leadership of Senator Christopher Dodd stopped Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid from forcing through the Senate a dangerous and unconstitutional FISA bill written closely with the Bush administration. What has Harry Reid done since then to forge a better solution?

Absolutely nothing.

(snip) We've only got a few days to convince Harry Reid to change course. The ACLU's principled demand is simple and straightforward: If it isn't constitutional, don't let the Senate vote on it.

(snip) P.S. According to reports from our Washington office, the Senate could take up a spying bill as early as Wednesday.

Once you've signed our petition, can you follow-up with a phone call to your senators?

Call the Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Here's the link in case, and please pass it on!

4. About Dodd - I was thinking this morning how nice it would be to have him in the top tier right now
with the economy being the biggest issue. :(

7. I wonder what his committee is doing now -- they must be going nuts.
I'm guessing their input was ignored by the Bush administration.

9. Thank you! I'd love for there to be another half-million e-mails regarding this,
but I'm not sure it's getting much coverage (and I'm surprised, why?).

I wonder when it WILL get to the floor -- I'm really nervous about this.

Thanks again! :hi:
