Hey fellow DUers! I have sent the following letter to a group of Civil Rights Leaders. I highly suggest you all write something similar so they are aware of what is going on in Jacksonville. and don't forget to call the election protection hotline to report the "caging": 1-866-OURVOTE.
BTW - If anyone has contact data on "The Black Panthers" (or their modern equivelant), I would LOVE to forward my email to them.

Dear Civil Rights advocate:
I don't know if you are aware yet, but through a twist of fate, it has been discovered that high level Republican executives within the RNC AND Bush campaign have been involved in a coordinated "Caging" effort in Florida. Apparantly, they had sent some emails to a spoof site, "Georgewbush.org" instead of "georgewbush.com". The spoof cite found it their civic duty to publish the emails on thier site.
The emails can be seen here:
http://georgewbush.org/deadletteroffice/#caginghttp://georgewbush.org/deadletteroffice/#caging2A related article by Greg Palast for BBC has unearthed the definition of "caging" an election and found a very disturbing fact: caging is the INTENTIONAL disenfranchisement of minority voters. Specifically, the emails in question contain the names and addresses of 1836 voters in the African American sections of Jacksonville county. The Republicans apparantly intend to challenge these people at the polls on Tuesday.
Here is the BBC article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/newsnight/3956129.stmI am not sure what you can do at this late date but found it essential that you were made aware of these disturbing facts.
Here are the Republican insiders that were included on the email and apparantly directly involved in intentionally disenfranchising African Americans.
"Tim Griffin - Research Director and
Deputy Communications Director"
"Kelly Porter"
"Lindy Landreaux - Political"
