Join The National Call-In Day Opposing Budget Cuts!
Congress is beginning work this week on the budget reconciliation amendment, which will serve to cut billions from programs and harm the health, nutrition and well-being of thousands of low-income families. While Congress decided in April's budget resolution to cut $35 billion from mandatory spending during reconciliation, recently, emboldened conservative House members have gained traction by using increased hurricane spending as an excuse to make further cuts of up to $50 billion over five years.

Please call today and tell your representatives to oppose these horrific cuts by calling them today and tomorrow (Oct. 17th and 18th) using this toll free number provided by the Americans Friends Service Committee: 1-800-426-8073

Ask to be connected to your Senators and Representative, and tell them to oppose reconciliation and cuts to Medicaid, Food Stamps, and other programs that provide desperately-needed services to low-income families.

Also, please forward this message to your networks and email lists and urge them to call today and tomorrow - - the eve of Congressional budget slashing.

You can take further action by sending an to your representatives telling them to cancel their plans for harmful budget and tax cuts. For more information on how to get involved with this fight, check out the , a large coaltiion which was set-up to fight the tax and budget reconciliation measures.

Tell them our democracy matters. http://www.millionphonemarch.com/impeach.htm Your comments will reach both senators and your congress person and a local newspaper as well- if you like. You can also call your members of Congress right now on one of these toll-free numbers, 888-818-6641 or 888-355-3588 - 24 hours a day.

http://www.demaction.org/dia/organizations/vevo/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=1353 this one is for co-sponsers for the Rush Holt bill HR 550. there is another one on http://vvlobbydays.blogspot.com or at Vote Trust that mentions the not so good-Feeny bill.
Here is my origional post http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=106x24464 many actions seem to get very little attention as compared to discussions. I'll recommend this thread. Hopefully folks will norice these actions too. Hopefully most of US get the same e-mails and have already done these.

How low can they go? And to think, the average American (Dem & Repug)knows nothing about this.

Thank-you acmejack and especially DU for informing me and alerting me to action on this... Maybe our no's are the only public reaction Congress is receiving. }( }( }(
