My wife gave me the best present early this past Friday: our son was born! The birth was at our house in a planned home birth (in a birth tub) and everything went great. He's a big fella too: 11 lbs 4 ozs and 24 inches. For as big as our son is, my wife is doing very well - walking around significantly better than she was able too just hours before the birth. Thanks for letting me share the good news! :)

 Though - an 11 lb 4 oz boy? 24 inches? Dayum! I'm glad the home birth went so well; the very thought of giving birth to that big of a baby makes me whimper. Your wife deserves the sun, moon and stars! :D Very happy holidays to you and your newly expanded family!

12. I guess I should've included that...
Nathan Dean. We liked the first name a lot and the middle name is after my wife's Dad. We're calling him Nathan.

Congats, our daughter ( first ( and maybe only :P )) was born on Nov. 5th No more sleep for you, or I should say consecutive hours of sleep :)

14. Congrats to you Snooper!
Daughters are great - I have 2 of them, and a son. Friday's arrival was no. 4. You couldn't be more accurate with the sleep either - its the lack of consecutive hours of sleep that catches up with you over the first few weeks. Best of luck to you and your family!

21. Congrats! That's about the same size my son was at birth except he was 24 1/2 inches and I
was NOT walking around so easily afterward. My best to the whole family!!:fistbump:

11 lbs 4 oz and a home birth without epidural??? Your wife is a hero. Our son was only 3.5 lbs and my epidural failed. Let me tell you, if he would have been over 11 lbs, I would have killed my husband ;)
