3. Transporting whales is very difficult

I doubt the poor thing would have survived the journey. Its REALLY hard to nurse whales back to health because of the difficulty of logistics like that..(I wanted to be a cetacean biologist for a long time so I've kind of learned a bit about it)
I'll tell you one thing, if there is any country who could have done SOMETHING if possible its Oz..they are very good in that area.

Thanks for the information - I know it is traumatic to transport any wild animal, much less one of this size and with serious injuries.

10. It's much too young to be separated from it's mother

They are wholly dependent on her for about a year, as I recall. Or at least a significant length of time. Even if they could transport it to a facility, there probably isn't one large enough. Even baby whales are HUGE. And then there is the question of formula. It's a tough thing to get right.
