It was bad enough that she had those idiotic ads that said 'Quick and Delicious. Is 'quilicious' a word?'
No, idiot, but 'moron' is. Look it up.
Then there was 'Quick and Delish.' Look, I love Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffees as much as anyone else, but I hate having to go in there and see giant posters with her smiling, vapid face mangling the English language and making it look 'cute.'
Now, to advertise their (delicious, btw) gingerbread donuts and lattes, they have a new Ray ad in which she says 'Gingerific.'
Gingerfuckingrific.
Is she stupid or something? Or is it the people who write these ads? Who is responsible for this absurdity? I HATE advertising at is (it makes me feel stupid by association), and this dumb garbage really ticks me off. Why don't we dumb ourselves down as a society even further? I mean, I don't think we're stupid enough as it is. Seriously, our powerful intellects are too much of a threat to the backwards people of the rest of the world. Maybe Rachael Ray can teach Geography lessons while she's teaching us English. 'This delish French coffee comes directly from Paris, which is right next to Narnia.'

She's not particularly big in my country and she is on Cable TV but I keep forgetting/can't be bothered to watch her show to see what the fuss is all about.

But it sounds that both Rachel Ray and her advertisers are trying to make her overly "cutesy" in the hope (sadly perhaps realized) that it will increase their product sales. Advertisements seeking to play up the "cutesy" image have always annoyed me to no end although, to give the US credit where its due, Americans -with the exception of people in the Paris Hilton mould -sound a whole lot better trying to be "cutesy" than when our advertisers over here try to do it

If you think advertising in the US makes you feel stupid by association, you haven't seen anything yet. Come over to my country and see the quality of advertisements we have over here. I think the UK has the highest standard of advertising I've seen to date. Been there, watched a few of their ads and the best thing about British advertising -as a general rule -is that the advertising agencies there view their audience as intelligent and sophisticated people and market their products accordingly. No such luck with most of our advertising agencies here

I agree with you -I'm always interested to see foreign advertising and how advertising agencies in different countries market their products. I used to live in SE Asia and I can remember the advertisements there -they tended to be, as a general rule, of a lower standard than British advertisements but of a higher quality than Australian advertisements. We actually thought that, when we moved to Australia, the advertisements would be of a better standard because they would be similar to the British ads. How wrong we were

She's not so bad, really, I liked her initially when I first heard of her, because she's cute and kind of likeable. However, the obnoxious saturation of her with tv shows and advertisement makes those kind of likeable things about her into annoyances, and not so enjoyable anymore.
