I guess republicans are good for SOMETHING!! My hardcore "voting republican because of God" Dad (and Mom since she pretty much does whatever he does) told me after reading Margarets fan mail they won't vote for him in 04 since he has "bad korean word" people like this associated with him.

(my parents are Korean aswell)


now to get them to vote democratic hehe..

2. I think all minorities need to let the scales fall from their

eyes and acknowledge the fact that the Republican base are bigoted white people. They only pay lip service to minorities to get more votes. Ideologically the Pugs are a very small party who believe they are entitled to everything and everyone else shouldn't even be in their line of vision.

That Margaret Cho is the same person who played the heroine in the (really awful) series "All-American Girl" years ago? She played this sort of quasi-hip, excessively wholesome Korean-American teenager--quite a journey from there, and a good one, I think.

AAG was based one joke that wasn't funny to begin with--Asians are wacky, Asian men are nerds, Asian parents are narrow-minded puritans whose quaint beliefs are unintentionally hilarious.

All my Asian friends are dems, too--except for one old couple. We haven't spoken about politics since after 9/11 (when I told them how Bush would use the tragedy to start wars and they didn't believe me), but I have a feeling they are probably not happy with him. They may be Republicans, but they are sensible people.
