Question for any who have cable internet service to stay on DU.
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 11:42 PM by napi21
I have Charter internet Service, and I spend WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON DU! I haven't had one week in the last year when there wasn't a problem with interupted service! I admit, most of the time it was a short time, but surely not all the time! It's been soo bad this weekend, I've started keeping a lag! When I called them, although most reps were very nice, they just say they're working on it!

Do any of you have similar problems or is this a problem with Charter?

I'm planning to call their Home Office tomorrow. This is unacceptable service!

1. Try here
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/charter

In most of the forums they have company service techs who post. Maybe you'll find one who'll help you. Or find some news about what's going on in your area.

2. Get on them. It's not cheap. You deserve decent service.
I don't have those problems with dial-up other than the slowness.

3. Cox isn't that much better...
my service goes out from time to time and it has been particularly bad lately. We changed out modems, thinking that was our problem. The service is somewhat better, but still goes out. We finally decided to get a technician out to check on the cables to see if there was a problem. He'll be out tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what problem(s) he will find.

4. I have to get rid of my temp interent files
every now and then and that is all...

Otherwise, I couldn't be happier with Cable....

I tell you, sometimes I have 15 or 16 sites open at once and no measurable slow down in connection.......

5. I've had Adelphia cable powerlink
for about 5 yrs. The 1st 3 yrs it would go out about once a week for 2 to 8 hrs or so. The past 2 yrs it goes out about once to twice a month for 1-15 hours. This cable monopoly crap where you can't pick your service plays right into the Bushista economic plan of stick it to the consumer.
