Pope's funeral won't delay Charles
April 03, 2005

THE wedding of Prince Charles to Camilla Parker Bowles would not be postponed if it fell on the same day as the Pope's funeral, a British constitutional expert said today.

Lord St John of Fawsley said he did not believe the couple, who are due to marry this Friday, would abandon their wedding plans if it clashed with the funeral.

Despite the eyes of the world being turned to Rome, Lord Fawsley said Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles would press ahead regardless.

"I think they are so anxious to get April 8 out of the way if there was an eclipse of the sun they would stick to that date.

I know they are absolutely determined to get it out of the way as soon as they possibly can."

Maybe Charles and Camilla should have just eloped? I would have been so much easier. Charles looks like the most unhappy groom that I've ever seen. What a nice attitude to go into a marriage with, let's just do it and get it over with. Good luck, you twit.

He and camilla should be celebrating their 30-somethingth anniversary.. They wanted to marry when they were just 19 or 20, but Queenie said no..

Had he known that he might never actually GET to be king, he might have told her to stuff it, and then married Camilla.

They both married others (unhappily so) and never gave each other up.

Had he been braver then or Queenie been less "lah-dee-dah", we would never have heard of Diana Spencer, and she would probably be married with 4 or 5 kids...Camilla & Charles would have had a bunch of not-so-great looking kids, and we would all be happier for ti...

I hope the "boys" are paying attention to all the grief that comes from protocoland ultra-propriety,.

Royals should always marry young.. What's stopping them?? They do not need REAL jobs to support a spouse, never lack for a place to live (or pay for it)..they have ample household help, and nannies galore..They get an "allowance" and free travel.. Why NOT get married and enjoy life..

5. Actually, it was Camilla who did not want to marry.
Charles went to serve in the Navy, and when he came back, Camilla had married. The Queen gave him permission to propose to her at the time.

4. He won't be the first bad King in history, but he really needs to
get married to his commoner and resign, turning it over to his son.

6. I think the Queen won't abdicate for that reason!
I don't think the people want him as King either...they want Diana's son!

8. Nothing will delay him, I'm afraid,
he's an arrogant, selfish halfwit. And if anyone is thinking, "Why not leave the poor man alone to be happy?" then you should try living here with this nonsense. He wants all the priveleges and wealth that come with his position without being willing to carry out the duty which is his part of the bargain. He's incredibly unpopular here and with any luck his arrogance will speed up the end of the monarchy. All it would take is a government with enough guts to get rid of them all.

10. Why do people still pretend that these people mean anything?
The UK hasn't been ruled by the monarchy for some time now. Time to kick the Windsors out of the castle, tax the shit out of them and let them get a job like anyone else. I'm tired of hearing about Prince Charlie E. Neuman and his horsefaced bride anyway.

11. Does Charles EVER look happy?
And if he did, how would we know? Isn't his face frozen in a frown?

13. As I posted elsewhere,
Tony Blair and his wife, who is a Catholic, will no doubt ably represent England at the Pope's funeral. Charles and Camilla certainly won't be missed.
