DU Women in your 30's- Is this great or what?
Edited on Sat Nov-13-04 04:40 PM by belladonna
I've been all introspective lately, reflecting a lot on my life and the wild ride it's been. I joke around sometimes about being old, but after a lot of thought, I've come to realize that this is by far the BEST part of my life.

I know what I want, I have the ability to get there and I've already made my mistakes and learned from them. I'm at my sexual peak and not afraid to ask for what I want anymore. Everything from here on out is gravy, seriously :D

How's about the rest of you? Am I alone in this?

1. From a 50 year old woman
you are correct. You will still screw things up sometimes but for woman, age is freedom.

2. Well,
I am in my 30s too, but I feel like I'm 80. I get up at 5am each day because that's when my hubby has to get up to get ready for work and although I could sleep later I just can't fall back to sleep once the alarm goes off so I usually visit DU for a little while and drink about a half a pot of coffee. I work 9am until 5pm Monday through Friday and in the evening I have to come home and cook dinner, then do the dishes and clean the house up a bit. I sit down usually around 8pm or so each night for an hour to come to DU or to watch TV. I go to bed just after tucking our son in at 9:30. Saturdays I clean all day.

Some Saturdays like today, I have a lot of energy and I get everything done just in time to make dinner. (I just finished the cleaning and I'm smoking a cigarette before I have to start dinner here.) Some Saturdays I have absolutely no energy and it literally takes me until bedtime to finish cleaning. I do laundry all day on Sundays.

I never get a break unless I am too sick to go to work which isn't very often. My husband works long hours but he does try to pitch in but it still doesn't help very much.

Sex is like an apparition in our lives. I'd LOVE to exercise my sexual peak, which I know is in there somewhere, but I'm always way too tired. I have a really hot stud of a hubby and when I look at him, I still melt and want him really bad, but I'm just "too pooped to pop" so to speak.

I'm happy for you if you're able to enjoy your 30s. I feel like I, too, should be having the time of my life, but there just isn't any room.

3. Response from a 48 year old man OK ?
From my perspective, you're a young beauty. I recently married my 47 year old long time girlfriend. She's a sweetheart too, also very attractive. Don't let popular culture tell you you are old, or whatever.

As to the sexual peak thing, sheesh - judging by my wife it'll only get more so ;) That's OK by me too !

Sorry to intrude if you only wanted the distaff opinion on this.

4. Nope, not intruding at all
Nice to see a guy who agrees that getting older for a woman isn't a BAD thing at all :hi:

5. I just turned 30 last week and got the worst present ever
specifically, i got the worst president ever (again).

So i feel like i've aged about 10 years in the 10 days I've been 30.
I look forward to finishing the grieving process so i can adjust to this new decade of my life.

Aside from that, I think I understand what you're talking about. I have done all sorts of ridiculous things that I know I probably wouldn't do now, knowing what I know, so I am sooo glad I did them before I knew better. I am really glad I spent my twenties as I did. And I have found my career (at least for the foreseeable future), I am pretty sure I have found my life partner, and I am, overall, pretty content.
But I don't necessarily think it's gravy from here on out - life throws out a lot of surprises that can rock one's world anytime in their life. I do think that, at this age, they're easier to handle. I hope.

:)
