Why won't my dog kiss me?
Seriously! Why are some dogs "kissers" and some aren't? I have to BRIBE Hannah Rose to kiss me by offering belly rubs, but first I have to tap my cheek and say "kisses!" and half the time she just licks the air real quick then rolls over to expose her belly.

Other times she just flat out refuses and says "fuck that I'll just drag my own belly on the carpet to get some scratchins."

Well she doesn't SAY that.

We had another dog once, named Mickey. We called him Mickey Lickerson because he'd lick ANYTHING. Your jeans, the back door. Anything. For a long time. Oral fixation dog.

But this one? Nothin doin.

I want doggy kisses!

5. We have a rule
for the dog in our house: No eating the cat's food either BEFORE or AFTER she's eaten it!!!!!

(She loves the "kitty crunchies," thus we keep the litter box away from her...)

7. Yep
when you find litter in your dog's beard and she is constantly licking her lips and her breath smells like shit, there's a problem.

Get her out of that cat box, man! I would NOT want kisses from THAT dog!

8. I've tried getting my dog to give me a kiss too...
but she is too shy. She will give light licks on my hand wanting me to rub her belly.

When she wants my attention she will very lightly touch me with her paw.

14. One of my dogs kisses me, the other doesn't.
But the one who doesn't... well, let's just say she's got a lot of problems. She was a stray, so I don't know what her early life was like...

18. A face kiss in canine nature causes a reflex to vomit something...
up for pups.

Face kissing is not exactly pure affection in canines.

Anomorphizing brought profits for Disney, and it's fun for people. But it's created alot of confused, neurotic animals.

Don't try to force your pet to lick your face if they are emotionally aged beyond puppy-dum.

21. But it doesn't mean she's bonded to you any less.
:)

If you think about it, I'll bet the "non-face licker" picks up on many other non-verbal clues...right?

Possibly also more alert and protective?

25. My dog's not much of a licker.
But that's just because she's usually preoccupied with humping your leg, or the chair, or the cat, or a stuffed animal, or the neighbor's children. She loves that humpin.

31. Putting the tongue in.
We've had dogs who try to put their tongues in your mouth, I was told it's called exchanging saliva, apparently they do it to dogs in the pack that they are closest to.
