Italian Satellite TV to Broadcast Evidence (chemical weapons)
of U.S. Use of Chemical Weapons on Civilians

A news program on Italian satellite TV, RAI News 24, has substantiated the claim that the US military has been exploiting the dual use of white phosporus. In its siege of Fallujah, the chemical was used on the civilian populace. The story is in today's Repubblica. The Bush Adminstration and the DoD are about to be shamed before the eyes of the world.

Shocking revelation RAI News 24. Use of chemical weapons by the US military in Iraq. Veteran admits: Bodies melted away before us.

White phosphorous used on the civilian populace: This is how the US "took" Fallujah.

Dish, DirecTV, or even an old style C-band?

If not, is there any way a subtitled version could be obtained on DVD?

48. They had clips from it on Democracy Now! this morning
Don't plan on eating after you watch it. Pentagon had a spokesman in Baghdad, who admited using White Phosphorous, but not on civilians.

But the film clips show otherwise.

59. I listened on the radio and Amy warned of the visuals.
How can a people invent horrid weapons such as these. Doesn't burn clothes, burns underneath, under gas masks, and when breathed burns inside your body. Only a race of demons would invent something like that. And you know what, many other races of this world think whites are the children of Lucifer and sometimes I don't doubt it.

4. There was discussion here at the time it was happening
or shortly thereafter. (Can't search for the thread now since we're at Level 1)

The stories and discussion were about a napalm type substance that was used during the 'taking' of Fallujah. The media did not report anything about the claim at the time.

The proof are shocking. The images and footing far worst than Abu Ghraib. :(

I hope many, many, many more Americans will see this immediately. We need to know the truth, even if it seems we can't change what is happening.

bodies were burned or melted it appeared and the clothing was left untouched. I wondered then what type of weapon was used to cause this. Now I know.
Bush and his whole regime should be brought up on charges of crimes against humanity. IF there is any justice left in this world it will happen.

26. Is white phosphorous
considered a chemical weapon? I know, first hand, that we have been using it in combat for a long time. It was used in grenades during WWII, Korea and I saw it in Vietnam. If it is being used on civilians then that is totally wrong and criminal, but if it is used in combat against armed military forces I believe it is an accepted practice.

Willy Peter is a horrible weapon. It will burn right through a body and there is little that can be done to stop it. Unlike napalm, where the oxygen is sucked right out of the air immediately resulting in instant death before inceneration, white phosphorous literally eats the flesh away from its live victims.

War is barbaric. You'd think we have gotten further along by now. Still uncivilized barbarians after all these centuries.

It seems logical that they were the ones, as they were the only ones who would actually NOT want her to expose what had happened in Fallujah. She said they told her she should not reveal what she had learned. That wouldn't make sense from the insurgent position.

54. I'd say this was a parting present from the Bu$h administration
to the incoming Dem administration, in a way like Waco was to Clinton and Reno.

Only problem for Bu$h is that the election fraud worked keeping him in the role of responsibility for this war crime.

Though it technically isn't napalm as it's not gasoline jelly, the W77 does use kerosene jelly and polystyrene so it's effects are just as dramatic as napalm.

White Phosphorus isn't supposed to be used as a weapon either, it's legitimate legal use is to illuminate the battlefield. Using it against a civilian population is beyond the pale.

These people in the leadership positions have made our soldiers accomplices in war crimes. As Americans, we also are responsible for what they have done in our name.

Killing 100,000 Iraqi civilians, many of them women and children. And statistically, some of those woment MUST have been pregnant at the time.

Using Torture just like Saddam.

64. BBC article on US using white phosphorus
Excerpt from BBC article ----

'Destroyed evidence'

The documentary begins with formerly classified footage of the Americans using napalm bombs during the Vietnam war. It then shows a series of photographs from Falluja of corpses with the flesh burnt off but clothes still intact - which it says is consistent with the effects of white phosphorus on humans.

Jeff Englehart, described as a former US soldier who served in Falluja, tells of how he heard orders for white phosphorus to be deployed over military radio - and saw the results.

"Burned bodies, burned women, burned children; white phosphorus kills indiscriminately... When it makes contact with skin, then it's absolutely irreversible damage, burning flesh to the bone," he says.

Englehart interview
Last December, the US state department issued a denial of what it called "widespread myths" about the use of illegal weapons in Falluja.

"Phosphorus shells are not outlawed. US forces have used them very sparingly in Falluja, for illumination purposes. They were fired into the air to illuminate enemy positions at night, not at enemy fighters," the US statement said. However, the Rai film also alleges that Washington has systematically attempted to destroy filmed evidence of the alleged use of white phosphorus on civilians in Falluja.

67. Explains why Italian journalist was shot at and almost killed by our side
DID you see this--"I gathered accounts of the use of phosphorus and napalm from a few Fallujah refugees whom I met before being kidnapped, says Manifesto reporter Giuliana Sgrena, who was kidnapped in Fallujah last February, in a recorded interview. I wanted to get the story out, but my kidnappers would not permit it."

Hmmm . . . rather a good reason for firing on her and almost killing her accidentally on purpose by our side, wasn't it?

70. First saw this on dailykos...now that BBC and Yahoo are running it
can the MSM afford to ignore it?

Looks like Bush is losing ground with his conservative base AND the "coalition of the willing." Pretty soon, Babs and Laura will be all he's got left.

77. Hmmm. Reporting it to friends here, in Quebec.
We are all pretty disgusted. Just created a thread on a national students union forum (the radical left) and, so far, everyone is... simply... not surprised at all.

American-way of doing things prevailed, once again. Nothing new under the sun. "Do as I say, not as I do".

The american people will be held responsible for this monstruosity, just like the german people in 45. I'd love to see some of the "Bush-loving" team clean the Fallujah slaughter, to force them to search for bodies and bury them just like a lot of german people were forced to do in the concentration camps.

This is a genocide, nothing short.

79. HELLO? With 34 votes - why isn't this on the Greatest page?
I know there were good elections and all but this is important stuff that we now have the opportunity to put in front of the public!

What's up?

83. yes, the more atrocities committed by Americans
the more the rest of the world will look the other way if we are attacked again. We may have garnered support and sympathy after 9/11, but it has eroded and we are to blame. Every time this administration cites 9/11 and the 3,000 who lost their lives, I think of all of the death and suffering that has been created since 9/11-if anything happens in this country again-i hold this administration directly responsible!!!!!
