"Beggers can't be choosey" Chris Matthews
Said this while discussing with Ron Blome in Biloxi about the trailer that FEMA will be setting up for the residents whom have lost their homes. He asked Ron are trailers going to be safe since we are still in hurricane season. Ron said, these people are living in their destroyed homes with no electricity, no running water and that living in a trailer will be a great accomadation for them. Chris answers, "Yeah, I guess Beggars can't be choosey". I found that comment so offensive.

2. Tweety is beyond offensive
He's a total tool, heartless, out only for ratings. I can't believe this guy once served in the Peace Corps. He's forgotten his roots obviously.

12. No.
Ron pointed out to him the ROTARY clubs tent they were living in weren't hurricane proof either.

7. I guess I would give him some slack cause my........
dear departed mother used that saying all the time. I think it's an old Irish thing.

9. Unless your dear departed mother made that statement on
national tv in a time when race and class are finally being discussed in a big way, I don't think I can compare the two.

Being Irish myself, I have also used the phrase but not against anyone or any group. Rather as a way to remind myself that I should be grateful for what I can afford or what has been shared with me. It is not a phrase to be used to hurt anyone else ... ever!

13. You're probably right.
I, by no means, want to defend tweety. I guess it just reminded me of my mom and the ten thousand times she used it. She sure has missed a lot in the past 4 years. She was a lifelong Dem. who almost dropped dead when I voted for a repug (only once).

10. Since when does a victim of a disaster become a "beggar"?
All this from the man who can't talk enough about his days in the Peace Corp? What a jackass. His comment is beyond offensive...

Peace.
