When and who will be the "Walter Cronkite" in this war?
When I was a kid, I remember the Cronkite Vietnam war commentary on the news. It was the end. They lost.

Will we have a Walter Cronkite? Who could it be? Will it happen?

2. I don't think we will have one
The news is too fractionalized for one figure to dominate it as Cronkite did.

4. Won't happen. ALL news is pentagon filtered. So we get Army news.
Propaganda. Bullshit. Walter Cronkite would have quit in protest.

During the Vietnam War, we still had freedom of the press.

12. First off,
it has to be somebody they trust. Remember Walter was"the most trusted man in America". I believe the 60s and the 70s destroyed the American people's trust in their institutions.

then, there has been the reckless disregard for the truth, or at least for reasonable fact-checking, shown by the MSM. We don't trust them, the right absolutely loathes them.

Some people trust Rush or Hannity, but it is unlikely that they will ever do Cronkite's job. Besides, they are talk radio, not MSM, hence lack credibility. So, who, in the MSM, is trusted by both left and right to tell the truth about the situation? Actually, who is trusted by the left, alone? I can't think of anybody, off the top of my head.

They don't put up with that shit anymore. They would kill him and easily pass it off as an accident.
