an ominous sign for the bush* minions...People in bush* country are STANDING UP in a big and impressive way....(some blocked out their faces for the photos, for FEAR of bush* retaliation....BRAVE AMERICAN PATRIOTS here)....

3. My mom lives near Grand Rapids.

A life-long Republican, she's very upset with the war, the war on SS, and the Schiavo congressional intervention. She would never, ever go to an anit-war rally, but I'll lay money on it that she won't be voting Republican next time around.

4. Grand Rapids used to be 100 % Pro-bush*....this is earthshaking

with some very TOUGH signs too....I'm impressed by their bravery....



it's a sign-of-the-times...as bush* people themselves are turning against their chimp....

5. GR is a city of about 180,000, not counting it's suburbs

Wyoming has about 65,000 and Kentwood about 45,000. Those are only two of the larger suburbs. It's a big community, full of mostly conservatives, although the city currently has a democratic mayor, who is also a UCC minister, if my information from my mom, who lives there, is correct.

This is a small group, so don't get your hopes up too much. There is a core group of liberal activists there, my mom's pastor is one of them. There are many UCC and UMC churches, along with Fountain Street Church (a liberal independent, formerly UU church)that are actively involved in peace protests, civil rights issues, women's rights issues, and gay rights issues.

it suggests a MAJOR change in the community's support for bush*...


when bush* landed on the aircraft carrier, May 01, 2003...such signs would have been BANNED from the streets of Grand Rapids...
