So how long did Bush sit in that classroom on 9/11?
Sorry, I'm sure this has been covered extensively on DU already, but I'm always hearing different accounts. Seven minutes and 20 minutes are the times I hear most. I know Moore's F9/11 has video of Bush sitting there for seven minutes after being told of the 2nd plane, but the video ends before Bush leaves, correct? So we know it is at least seven minutes. But do we or don't we know the exact time Bush left? I thought there were some still photos or something that showed a clock in the background. Does anyone know the exact length of time Bush sat there after being told of the second plane? I'm assuming most people start counting from that point and not from when Bush knew about the first plane.

1. I saw an unedited copy of the tape
with ewing2001 and Sterling about a year ago.

I can't remember the exact timem but it was more than 7 minutes.

I *think* it was 17.

Sterling pops up here occasionally, maybe he, or paulthompson has the exact time.

2. Are you sure that was the same tape?
I was pretty sure the tape used in F9/11 cuts out after seven minutes. Roger Ebert had something about that was posted at DU recently. I remember words to the effect of "unfortunately, the tape runs out before Bush does."

8. One other thing that is disconcerting to me . . .
.
Maybe someone can help me with this. When Andy Card leans over to whisper to Bush* that a 2nd plane has hit the WTC and that America was under attack, what Card does next is confusing to me.

He immediately withdraws from the pResident and goes back across the room to stand. Sooo, he whispers in his ear and doesn't wait for -- well, anything. He just walks across the room again.

I've always found it curious. He doesn't wait to see the pResident's reaction, to see if Bush will say something back to him, give an order to him, a suggestion to him, or to see if Bush will even have a follow-up question, for heaven's sake.

I've actually studied that moment over and over (it was on tape for a little while here at the house) and it is just bizarre to me.

It is as bizarre as the time passing by and Bush doing absolutely NOTHING.

10. That is a very good point.
I think it's possible Card was expecting Bush to have the sense to excuse himself after being told. When Bush didn't, Card was kind of stuck over there on the other side of the room. He couldn't come back over and say anything else without making it look like Bush had to be told what to do. How did Bush finally leave, anyway? Did he get up on his own, or did someone finally walk over and tell him it was time to go?

12. Card not waiting for a reply has always
struck me as odd, but Bush's re-action (or non re-action) is a puzzle also. When someone gives you news of this magnitude, it's almost automatic to LOOK that person in the eye and say WHAT??? That whole scenario is just plain creepy. I watched the entire video a couple of days after 911 and, as I recall, the photo-op ended as planned and Bush still hung around talking to the teachers, students, etc. Not even seeming to be concerned about our country being attacked. Weird dude, that one.

14. He had to wait about 10 minutes for a change of clothes
Mystery solved? Bush returns to the classroom wearing the grey jacket. Has he changed clothes and if so, why?

Incontinence is no laughing matter.
http://propagandamatrix.com/multimedia_priorknowledge_emmatbookervid.html

The video is 11 minutes long and 23 megabytes large, a lengthy download. On slower connections, it can take more than 30 minutes to view).
It appears the videotape cuts off a little early from Bush's classroom visit, but otherwise a picture is worth a thousand words.

See,
NOBODY has video of Bush actually getting up and leaving.
And the next photos appear to have different clothing.
Why do YOU suppose the man had to sit there until after the children filed out of the room?
And a national crisis taking place at the same time?
Unless he pooped his pants
and Andy was telling him that help was on the way?

This footage, obtained and presented exclusively by The Memory Hole, shows President Bush sitting in a Florida classroom for 5 minutes after he was told that the second Twin Tower has been hit and that America was being attacked. A truncated version of this footage that has been available online since June 2002 shows Bush for only 2 minutes, 10 seconds after being told. This new footage more than doubles this length of time.

At Emma Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Fla., President Bush watches video footage of the World Trade Tower attack.

16. Thanks for the links!
I'm skeptical about the change of clothes thing, though. If the pictures were staged at a later time, why would they be so careless about "continuity"? I think lighting issues are more likely.
