1. Oops....that was CBS with Rumdum
now Rumsfeld is on, blaming Iranian influence

McCaffery says the aramament of insurgents is much more substantial than is being claimed

THEN, Jim MIkaleszewski says that Rum has warned TWO AND A HALF MILLION Shiites to stay away from Karballah this weekend

can you imagine what THAT's going to be like?

8. Iran again?
Rummy often seems to be the most insane of the lot, and that is saying something. Maybe he wants another invasion, so that he can be the center of attention again.

15. Rumsfeld is a monster.
This plutocracy of the military corporations must be destroyed, and never allowed to exist again. When I see Rumsfeld making these incoherent statements, I feel I am seeing a modern-day Nero. We must do more than get Kerry elected. We have to make sure a tragedy like this never happens again. Vietnam ... Iraq ...NEVER AGAIN !! NO MORE WARS FOR THE RICH MAN !

14. All of us here who are old enough
have been thinking about Vietnam lately. I know I sure was last night watching CNN. Much talk there about how we must support the troops and stay the course.

What's that saying about being doomed to repeat the history you don't remember. Well folks, we're there.

17. It is what it is...
What the hell was that supposed to mean?

How many times did he repeat it?

Rummy reminds me of an alcoholic uncle. He'd wander around mumbling a bunch of nonsense that no one paid attention to, and then every once in awhile would just stop, exclaim some weirdness that apparently meant something to him, and then move on again while we scratched our heads.

When Rummy speaks, I have to keep checking to make sure I haven't tuned into MAD TV.

5. Terry Moran.....this is SIGNIFICANT!
he says the WH knows that this is a battle for the "HEARTS and MINDS" of the Ameridcan people!!!!!!

that was THE catchphrase for the entire propganda/PR battle for the public will during Vietnam, both here AND in SE Asia, as well as the title of the iconographic movie of the time

wonder when they'll get that one out of mothballs, like The Battle of Algiers

just as searing, heartbreaking as that classic

7. Wonder if they will find a way to try an perpetrate the
"dominoe" theory again?
you know, if we don't stop the terrorists in Iraq, then they will go to Syria, Iran, Jordan...etc.....oh, I forgot. They are already there.

9. tha's VERY easy.........substitute terra-ist for commie
you've heard their big warning to any lilylivered retractionists: if we cut and run, the terra-ists have WON!

this is their new breeding ground, and if we leave, that sucking sound you hear is the air rushing in behind the alqaidees who will swarm Iraq, making it the terra haven they PREDICTED it already was!

can you imagine any possible way to make Osama salute from his grave?

if he were alive, he'd be happier than he was on either 911 or March 21 of last year.

how stupid can our government GET?

18. Read a Commentary...
...on Scott McClellan that indicated his basic problem is that deep down he's an honest man. He doesn't know how to lie well, and when he gets put into these situations, he freaks out.

6. sure looks like it.....sure hope so....HEARTS and MINDS! can't believe
the government is admitting that the battle is being fought here for our HEARTS and MINDS!

they NEVER ever should have ceded that particular language

just wait and see.......hearts and minds is deadly territory for the criminals, and if they admit it's gotten that far already, they've LOST

LOST, I tells ya!

10. Chill out--no problem.....didn't you hear Rummy press confrence today??
This was expected. It's only estimated 1 to 6,000 Iraqi terrorists are getting all lathered up and fighting us compared to 25 million yarning to be free. It will be handled. Everything will be okay. They are growing the flowers right now in hothouses all across Iraq to throw in the path of our advancing armies and Jesus is about to appear and convert them all...........I'm waiting for June 30th, Rummy, when this shit is rammed down your throat and Bush's sideways!!!

13. Did anyone see ABC's coverage of Iraq today?
They interviewed a young boy who was wounded by our bombs. Peter Jennings also interviewed 2 former generals who were HIGHLY critical of the conduct of the war, and who went so far as to compare the situation to Vietnam.

16. Heard a haunting interview today of embed photog on BBC/NPR 'The World'
He knew some of the Marines who were killed yesterday and is obviously in shock, sort of rambling with what seemed to me like very personal and unguarded answers.

Ramadi interview (7:00)
In Iraq, there's been more violence in Ramadi. On Tuesday, 12 U.S
Marines were killed in the fierce fighting between the U.S coalition and
Iraqi insurgents. Host Lisa Mullins speaks to Philadelphia Inquirer's
staff photographer, David Swanson, who was in Ramadi when the fighting
took place.
