1. I can't read more, cause I don't go to that site.

I know he was going to resign,
and decided to wait till after the vote,
cause that would have meant that the house
would have needed one less Dem vote
to pass the bills.

2. The other paragraph says....
"The move was not unexpected; Deal is running for governor in Georgia and has said previously that he would resign soon."

-----
p.s. I didn't put both paragraphs in the OP cause I didn't want to break any rules by posting the whole thing ;)
I find it funny that by 'soon' it turned out to be 'minutes' after the vote!

Deal's district is at least R+20.

4. This POS puke is MY Rep! I sent him a ranting email when he said he was
resiging and changed his mind so he could stay in the House for the HC vote. I got a 4 page response but he didn't refer to the HC bill even once! I told him I would not ever vote for him for Governor either!

This POS started out as a Dem and switched parties a long time ago. I've told him many times, if you never do anything,k you can never be faulted for anything either! IMO, he's done nothing in his terms and I'm only hoping a good Dem will run for Gov. of Ga, this year!

6. Deal, Shelby, etc..
These right-wing southerners who are recruited are part of the problem USUALLY. We need to vet people better. We also need to forge a new strategy that is based on long-term transformation of the south rather than politics of mere convenience there. The non-white electorate must be the firm foundation and leading core.

14. No, he's a hillbilly, just like me - he used to be my congressman
when I lived in Georgia. The mountain folk don't say "killah." We say "killer."

11. This will change nothing, but by resigning now he avoids an ethics probe before his run for governor
We've got some real winners running for governor on the right this year, Deal and our corrupt insurance commissioner John Oxendine.

It appears that former Democratic governor Roy Barnes may have a shot.

19. No, not more seats for us. This is a VERY red district
Just one less Party of No vote 'till they replace him, which probably doesn't mean much.
