Birther Soldier Fired From His Civilian Defense Contracting Job
Source: Washington Independent

By David Weigel 7/15/09 3:00 PM

According to Orly Taitz, the attorney for Maj. Stefan F. Cook, the reservist who has asked not to be sent to Afghanistan unless President Barack Obama provides more proof of his American citizenship has been fired from his job. In Taitz’s application for injunction, she recounts what happened after the Department of Defense revoked its request to Cook.

Plaintiff Major Cook called his civilian boss, the CEO of Simtech, Inc. … The CEO of Simtech, Inc., Larry Grice, explained to Plaintiff over a series of four conversations within the next two hours, that he had been terminated. Grice told the Plaintiff that he would no longer be welcome in his former position at SOCOM but that Grice wanted to see whether he could find something within the company (Simtech, Inc.) for Cook. The upshot was that at this time Grice did not have anything for Plaintiff to do. Grice told Plaintiff, in essence, that the situation had become “nutty and crazy”, and that Plaintiff would no longer be able to work at his old position.

I’ve asked Cook to confirm all of this.

UPDATE: Cook emailed me and said that Taitz’s account was “correct.” He’s been fired.

Not those phony substitute things HR gives out when they are not sure you actually have a security clearance.

And to get a real one of those, he has to present his Birth Certificate . . .

6. This schmuck VOLUNTEERED to go to Afghanistan!!!
http://www.ledger-enquirer.com/news/story/777472.html

Earlier today, Quon said Cook submitted a formal written request to Human Resources Command-St. Louis on May 8, 2009 volunteering to serve one year in Afghanistan with Special Operations Command, U.S. Army Central Command, beginning July 15, 2009. The soldier's orders were issued on June 9, Quon said.

"A reserve soldier who volunteers for an active duty tour may ask for a revocation of orders up until the day he is scheduled to report for active duty," Quon said.

He volunteered so he could cry about Obama ordering him to Afghanistan? WTF?

Yeah. He volunteered then had his lawyer file for an injunction to prevent hi
from being deployed then asked that his deployment be revoked. Since this was all within a day it was revoked as per volunteer rules. Then his lawyer claimed it was a victory and that the military had turned against Obama. She then muttered some stuff about how she would have to travel around the country to do this for other soldiers until Obama is removed.

And he's a doozy. Dr. Charles Lincoln III. Major ties to the "Sovereign Citizens" and "Tax Evasion" movements, runs a website advertising quasi-legal "debt relief", (URL is the motto of the Confederate States of America .us)

Convicted felon, served jail time for bank fraud and tax evasion. Disbarred in Florida and California, forced to give up his license to practice law in Texas.

And THAT's Orly's new "law clerk". (Actually many people are suspecting he's now writing her legal stuff and she's a sockpuppet for him)

24. I saw this when it first popped up, and readily admit I really did
Laugh Out Loud...:D

From what I can gather, Cook and Taitz set this whole thing up as a media "event", and now that several aspects of the Defense Department have gotten involved, Cook lost just about everything.

In some incomprehensible way, to the sane at least, Cook and Taitz figured this would somehow "force" the president out of office...even though almost everyone who first supported BC investigations long ago gave it up as ridiculous. For this orchestrated effort Taitz sealed reputation as a legal hack...but the real loser, as it should be is Cook.

Lost his security clearances.

Lost his job because it required security clearance, (and will no get another job above janitor, if that, in anything Defense works with.)

Lost all credibility with the Army.

Lost any sense of dignity he might have had.

Lost any respect from sane friends and members of his community.

He may lose his house, car, boat or anything he may own, because he won't get a decent job to pay for them.

What has he gained?

Notoriety: Nothing like being a national focal point for soldiers calling him a coward and a traitor; and a couple of insane RWnuts who will somehow find Cook as a "hero"...:wtf:

This is part of the learning experience of anyone who has ever heard the adage, "choose your battles wisely", something he must have missed while climbing the ladder in the military heirarchy...;)

As a vet, I feel obligated to publicly call this man a coward and a traitor...:patriot:

Corruption happens in the hands of power, I get that. What I will never get is the citizens laying down and taking it up the rear.

I am the first to say there is work to be done. The media is corporate owned, it's all about "celebrity".

The GOP...all they have is fear, and people are sick of being terrorized by them...but slkowly things will change, it is very rare that things happen quickly in politics...and that's a good thing, I've seen some really crappy legislation in my time, most of it done relatively quickly.

When the average worker complain about millionaires getting taxed...for their (the workers) benefit no less!...there are serious problems.

82. Yep...Some of these people think they will be some kind of "hero"...
they don't do these things out of a sense of duty, they do it for their "15 minutes of fame", and then flame or smolder out. Cook had this planned out in a strategic sense...his tactics were pathetic, therefore, the strategy failed miserably. (The strategy was flawed as well, since it has been well established that the president is a natural born American citizen.).

I tried to find a pic of this guy, but searches proved fruitless...I'd like to know what he looks like just to satisfy my curiosity. Taitz looks like a loon, and her bio shows me a disturbed individual. If what is written is true, I can see where she would be an ardent foe of Communism...but her experiences appear to have affected her judgment as well. Maybe she too will be selling wursts out of a shack...:D

As for Cook...I figure the "oh shit!" moment has arrived. When i was in the Army, i prized my security clearances...it showed me that I was trusted, that I took to heart what I had pledged to do, defend the Constitution. Without security clearances, Cook's military life is essentially over...some wouldn't trust him to count turnips coming off a truck after what he did. many of those he left in the dust on this had fellow soldiers killed and wounded while this jerk played a political game...that is despicable to anyone in the military.

I for one, am glad he lost that game and i hope he lives the rest of his life in shame, in a shack, alone and miserable.

43. Orly Taitz is guilty of treason
Legal Definition

"The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offense is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court."

I can think of no greater comfort to our enemies than to gleefully claim that "we will have no military" as a result of a politically motivated stunt to undermine a sitting president.

I am getting really tired of these bozos, and will pop a champagne bottle when the first one finally gets smacked down.

51. Sorry to be crass but....
I hope he joins the tens of thousands of other Americans living in tent cities or worse. There were many soldiers who thought Bush had (and did) steal the 2000 and 2004 elections but they served their country. They didn't question his position as Idiot in Chief...er. I mean Commander in Chief.

He deserves every ill that befalls him. Sorry, employers are free to fire your ass (Repukes hate unions) for any reason unless it is one of the protected reasons, i.e. race, national origin, etc.

57. Eh, wishing harm on someone is never right, even if they are complete idiots
And of course, this guy is a complete idiot.

What bothers me about this guy is that he appears to have listened to a person who identified themselves as an attorney and then ran them down the path of ruin for their own purposes. That attorney should be disbarred.

69. It seems even as a president, a black man still needs more authentication than a white one.

Really, I see the ugly face of racism in all this. What if Obama's father had been Irish? Go through same scenario with an Irish father with Obama born in Hawaii? How much "proof" would these idiots demand then? They definitely wouldn't say, "Show us your REAL birth certificate."

This is just what I would call INSANE racism, the kind where people deep in their mid-brain can't accept equality, though they appear to, they keep getting these insane delusions.

71. To be honest, I have mixed feelings about this.
I mean, it's pretty obvious that "dude is nuts!". BUT, who makes the determination that "dude is nuts"?

Which is why we have the whole "jury of peers" situation set up in the Constitution.

HOWEVER, as a member of the military he "took an oath".

HOWEVER, it is established that "just following orders" is not an excuse for performing heinous crimes.

This could be a very interesting case. Comparable to "I can't define it , but I know it when I see it". Which - let's face it - is not a decision but a "cop-out". Seriously, if you can't define it but have to rely on a "gut-check", maybe your gut is extremely wrong and you shouldn't be making such decisions in the first place!

I can't describe Bad Judgments, but I know bad SCOTUS Justices when I see them. Wait! Actually, I can!

Why is it that Conservatives complain so much about "activist Judges making laws from the bench" and yet it is Conservative Judges that keep doing that? I keep seeing Conservative Judges who claim that they support a "literal interpretation" of the Constitution who keep "interpreting" the Constitution whenever it suits them. Honestly, we need a process to impeach SCOTUS judges.

80. I wouldn't think it's as involved as that.
He was the one who volunteered himself to go to Afghanistan back in May. All the while knowing exactly who his Commander-in-Chief was. So he can't rightfully claim he's being coerced. And now since the Pentagon has chosen to withdraw his request for deployment, the matter becomes moot.

All except the part about his former job. Well, I guess you could say that's moot too. His security clearance that he needed to work at his former company, is now probably also "moot." The Pentagon can't afford to have disgruntled employees with security clearances, now can they? As you can see, this was not well thought-out. By him nor this so-called attorney he hired. Hell, they're both probably looking for book deals. I mean if Sarah Palin can parlay her idiocy into 7-figures from stupid publishers, who will be selling books that will go unread to the even stupider than themselves, then why not them?

So it's probably a good thing that this guy is not in-charge of soldiers and other people's lives and shit. One can only wonder how he managed to achieve the rank of Major as it is. Personally, I'm just glad to have him out of the Armed Services because I'm not sure he was ever "on our side." Now he can return to his mom's basement and become a cult hero on Free Republic. That's the consolation prize.

And as for the reason that conservatives complain so much about "activist judges" making laws from the bench -- its only when a judge who does that is making a law from the bench that they don't like. There are some others laws made from the bench that we all ended up having to swallow. For eight years (Gore v Bush - 2000) no less.

- And they seemed to like those judge's laws from the bench just fine......
