Bush monitors storm; aides urge residents to "take this hurricane very seriously"

WHITE HOUSE The White House says Hurricane Wilma's a dangerous storm, and those in its path should take it "very seriously."

And Press Secretary Scott McClellan says that means listening closely to what state and local officials are saying.

President Bush is said to be monitoring the storm closely -- getting regular updates from aides on its approach.

16. How Does Dubya Know That God Is REALLY Pissed-Off At Him?
Consider:

Here we have a guy who claims - claims, mind you - that God has regular chit-chats with him.

He's shared this bit of personal "revelation" with foreign leaders..... who were seen vomiting, afterwards, BTW.

BUT

When a really REAL "message" gets delivered, it oddly seems to require erasing whole cities, a la "Soddom" (Hussein), and "that guy who runs Pakistan" (Gomorrah?) or possibly much like Karbala.... Baghdad.... Tikrit..... Kabul..... Bali......Madrid.....Moscow......Beslan..... except way, way wetter than any of them.

Kinda brings the whole personal divine revelation thing into some doubt, doesn't it?

BUT

On the up-side, darling Dubs has finally eclipsed the previous "Pissed Off God World Record" formerly held by Jerry Falwell, in which Falwell's "Treasure Island" church, located midstream in the James River at Lynchburg, in 1987, flooded, caught on fire, lifted off her foundations, and majestically sailed downstream for Richmond, flaring a refutation of Falwell's "Flames of Revival" concept in a really, REALLY BIG way.

Eighteen years later, Dubya has received several recent and truly "National Scale" announcements of a remarkably similar sort - all within sixty days.

ERGO:

Allowing Dubya to pretend "national" importance was an even worse idea than we already knew that it was.
