1. One of the first things Bernie did when he got to Congress was found the House Progressive Caucus,

now the Congressional Progressive Caucus and chair it for its first 8 years.

Both in the House and Senate, he wrote substantive amendments that got passed into law.

He worked well across the aisle. Though he criticized Republicans plenty, they expect that and still respect him. He never immaturely went out of his way to disrespect them.
