(12,171 posts)8. After a lent without meat the cured and smoked ham was
the last thing in the larder. That's one possible reason. The other possible reason was to prove one wasn't Jewish. In either case it just became a small t tradition.

Like everything about Easter, it's a rip-off of paganism and Spring celebration rituals.

Jesus was a Jew. The Passover meal traditionally commemorates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt.
