I meant National Alliance for Mental Illness. or NAMI. NAMI is fighting to remove the stigma from mental illness through education and awareness. They have classes as well as support groups for both those who have loved ones who are mentally ill, as well as the mentally ill people themselves. My daughter is attending a class at the moment as am I. All classes and support groups are free of charge. They are run by volunteers who have personal experience with the mentally ill and who have taken classes themselves. I don't know what your area is,but I'm in upstate South Carolina. Yes,Late teens, early twenties is the usual onset for Schizophrenia, though the scarlet fever may have had an effect. There is some thinking that some mental illnesses may be due to inflammation of the brain, but not enough studies have been done yet.
