(1,089 posts)24. As long as 2A is law, I say no. However,
Every law, including Constitutional law, is continuously up for debate on its merits. For now, 2A is equal in stature to 3A is equal in stature to 1A and 8A and 13A. It is Supreme Law. But even Supreme Law can be changed, and that's where a public safety argument has its place. 'Til the law is repealed, the public safety angle should only be valid for a very short distance, subject to the same strict, narrow type of regulation that can be placed on free speech or privacy rights.
