and provided zero evidence. I first heard of it when Thom Hartmann speculated if ALEC did, and then claim that ALEC did.
Here is a question, how many states had SYG before ALEC existed? At least five that I know of.

Oh yeah, the article in HuffPo claiming that Florida was the first SYG state did not even do any research. Illinois passed it in the early 1960s. It existed before that in other states such as Washington, Minnesota, Kentucky, and Utah.
