After the Taliban slaughter:

"Sanders believes the Iraq War was responsible for destabilizing the entire region, leading to the rise of such groups. Asked if he thinks the U.S. alliance with Israel in the face of its continued settlement-building was a contributing factor, he said no.

"You're asking a rational question," he said. "I can have a very good argument about the role the U.S. should have with Israel. But the ideology has very little to do with Israel."

That ideology, Sanders said, is about seeing women as second-class citizens and blowing up girls simply for going to school."
