without the guts to do it. But by doing research on homesteading and off the grid living, I have found several things that I can incorporate into my life, even if I don't live a self-sufficient life. There are many things that can be done for yourself that you can try out while still living conventionally.

Even if you don't have a garden, you can buy farmers market bruised items cheap and can or freeze them at the height of the season. You can learn to make things for yourself, even if it just starts with curtains. You can compost to reduce trash and supplement your garden. And you can learn to do without many things that are not of any use. So you don't have to take the plunge to start to try sustainable living.
