Texas has a terrible voter turnout. Women especially do not vote.
Rick Perry's last reelection was won with between 17 and 18% of eligible voters.
33% Turnout total, he won with around 57 to 60% of that 33% turnout vote; that leaves a rough tally of 17% or so.

If Democratic, liberal, progressive, Women, LGBT, (whomever would not be fascist corporatist leaning clown) showed up, registered and voted in their own self interest then the Democratic Party would win...
Make it so.
