3. I fared well in the "Big One"

Just lots of wind and rain and the only damage I saw was a piece a building's facade was ripped off by the wind.
A friend of mine in Rockland County - north of NYC - had no power for days. When I went to the supermarket the day after the streets were filled with a lot of small pieces of trees and so many leaves that the sidewalks looked like Jackson Pollock paintings.
