of Martin needing a strong editor. The last two books - A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons - probably could have been condensed down into one book with a few characters having several chapters condensed down to only a few. Did we really need a whole chapter of Arianne locked in the tower? Same with Brienne and also Jon Snow. Did we really need all those chapters for each of them? (not to mention Sam's story overlapping to Jon's for a few chapters)
