"child" at 5 wks, and still thinks he belongs in his Momma's lap. He competes alonside his human brother for affection, love, and a lap. He seriously thinks that he's the size of a teacup poodle and is part human. He's getting older now, but he still tries to do the sneak approach... Start with laying his head on my lap, then popping up one front leg at a time so that he pins me down, and then does a scoot (somehow) with the back legs, and then, there he is all 90lbs of him on top of me in the best way he can figure out getting as much of his body onto the love seat and me. My son thinks its the funniest thing to watch and laughs everytime he does it. (when its time for him to go to doggy heaven, my son is going to have a very hard time dealing with it - he's been with us since 2002; so the dog is almost 3 yrs older than my son and he's never not had that dog with him to play with. Shoot, the whole family will be very affected when his time is up... He's the big, excited, butt wagging, happy to be with his humans dog that has never really "grown up"... He's still like a big kid... His naps are a little bit longer now, but he still jumps around and plays around and makes people smile, even if he's done something "bad&quot .

Pets are one of those things where, if you treat them the way they should be treated, own their owner's. And its a wonderful experience. It is just hard that their lives are so much shorter than our own (well with dogs or cats - I'm not talking about the tortoise or a bird that can live longer lives than their humans).
