Zealots are dangerously delusional and will not hesitate to use the most devious or brutal means to achieve their goals. Cruz is obviously driven by his perception of himself as being a divinely appointed savior. The disturbing increased influence of the extreme evangelical movement should be a cause of concern since it doesn't appear that there is concentrated effort to counteract their influence. Even if he is not elected, their influence, in part, contributed to the disastrous Bush presidency.

This formidable block of dedicated zealots are a real danger that continues to be ignored as being a real threat. They subscribe to the philosophy of survival of the fittest coupled with their adherence to dominionists concepts with a determination to impose their will on American society transforming it into a virtual theocracy. It appears that they are immune to any significant criticism relaying on an unwillingness of the MSM or opposing candidates to challenge their protected religious beliefs.
