A certain acceptance by all NATO nations would not have been a given at any rate. You are also correct, IsItJustMe, that even any attempt by the "interim government" to incorporate Ukraine into NATO would be a sure way to ramp up tensions with Russia.

IMO: This decision shows a surprising degree of wisdom and restraint on Mr. Yseniuk's part. Good for him!
