I think it's also useful to remember that even a 20-week gestational limit for abortion would make the Georgia law one of the most liberal in the world. The time limit in most of Europe is 12 weeks. However it's also useful to note that the American Medical Association and the UK's Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists have both found that there's no scientific or medical basis for lowering the time limit before 24 weeks (as even at 24 weeks, foetal viability is less than 50%).
