retinitis pigmentosa which has left her legally blind. The research for the treatment was at John’s Hopkins and the acupuncturist was trained in the protocol. It thickens tissue, and she has gotten a percentage of her vision back (7%, last I heard; it’s also a reversal of the progressive loss of tissue that RP causes) and continues to. Not saying it’s going to be a total cure, but it helps.

It’s also used for fertility treatments along with IVF, based on studies. One showed that using it increased pregnancy rates from about 15% to about 33%. It’s thought to stimulate ovulation.
