It was a major reason for buying a home in a 1960's suburb out in the middle of nowhere SE Connecticut. This 45 sq-mile town has very few ordinances and doesn't even have it's own police force. It has some constables under the authority of the state police. (CT doesn't have any county government, so no sheriffs)
