(107 posts)but I challenge you, as an experiment, to hold a thought in your mind that has not materialized in your reality -- as an example running into an old friend or whatever experience you wish. Keep it there, act as if it is so, feel it as being true. Then watch for the experience to show up in your reality. This is nothing new! Just about all teachings remind us of this -- the importance of controlling our thought, the difficulty of controlling the mind which is like "a monkey in a cage" as Buddhism puts it. The teaching "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he" or "whatever is beautiful, whatever is good, think ye on these things" tell us this. Explore the tons of books on the mind and how it works. Observe how you think and what shows up in your life and experience as a result. You might believe that violent video games, movies, etc. are harmless but I see them as quite dangerous, especially as you develop the creative power of your mind. Your mind is a creative force. Use it with care.
